It's actually starting to almost depress me. I just realised that from January, to September, C4 will have shown non-stop reality TV. It started last month with BB:CH, then BBUS was put on E4, then soon I'm pretty sure Shipwrecked will air up until ther BB9 lauch (as it usually does) Then, we have BB9 for God knows how long.
Anyone else fed up with all the reality TV on atm, and also, is anyone else almost feeling kinda depressed?
i think the best thing they could do is show no reality tv between now and BB9

Same. All it's going too do is put more people off.

I read somewhere that the reason they're doing loads of Reality TV is because they kept getting emails from people saying they wasn't showing enough of it. So they decided to put loads of shows on.

Seriously?
I always thought C4 showed the most reality TV out of all the major channels.
The past few months alone they'll have had BB8, BB:CH, Dumped, Shipwrecked, BBUS, BB9.

I think C4 is showing the right amount of reality TV
Theres Vanity Lair to add to that list.
I think its all of these programs that are killing Big Brother off, not necessarily Big Brother killing itself.

Dumped wasn't really a reality programme though

The reality TV C4 is showing doesn't get very good ratings so its not really going to affect Big Brother.

Shipwrecked does, hence its move from T4 to prime time Sundays.

Shipwrecked only gets about 1m - 2m I think.

I don't think that Channel 4 are showing too much reality TV. Channel 4 have always been known for providing some of the best reality TV shows ever and as long as they're getting a considerable amount of viewers, then I doubt they'll stop showing them.
Maybe in the run up to Big Brother 9, they'll cut down the amount of reality TV shows that they're showing.
I don't really think the likes of BBUSA (which only gets 150,000 viewers) and BB:CH will cause people to be put off from watching BB9 in the summer. The main Big Brother series is the mother of all reality shows and will be hugely anticipated come May. Shipwrecked doesn't really compare to Big Brother in my opinion, they are completely different shows and are not mutually exclusive, it's never put people off Big Brother in the past. No other reality show will get the same tabloid coverage BB9 will get (even 3 months before it starts it has been getting stories in the Daily Star).

As Billy said, you should only be concerned if you sit and watch them all under oath 24/7.

No but we can still complain about what we want , when we want , about what shows we want on what channel we want.

And likewise , you should only be concerned about people complaining about it only if you are forced to watch this topic 24/7.
Its a rubbish point really , and it works both ways.

I agree with Morpheus. I never said anything about me watching the channel 24/7 under an oath, but I did post about the overlaod of shows ruining Big Brother and being almost depressed with the overload of Reality TV on the cahnnel atm. It's hard to avoid really.

The joy of Sky, Virgin Media, BT Vision, Freeview etc.
They all have more than five channels on, so it makes Channel 4 more avoidable...

But your bound to end up getting caught up in it some way , be it radio ads , magazines , channel surfing , or simply watching another , non-reality show on C4. You know the way it works. Something you dont watch can still have the ability to piss you off , likesay , Big Brother.

That's only if you let it. How on earth people are able to get pi$$ed off by seeing an ad whilst flicking through the channels or a magazine is beyond me. And the fact that a certain channel showing too many [in your opinion] reality shows can depress you is also beyond me.
I loathe the history channel but when I see an ad for the crap they put on it, it doesn't pi$$ me off or depress me as I've no interest in it so therefore I don't let it annoy me ... and plus, it's only the TV ... there's more important things to get depressed about than reality shows.
As for the question, I don't think there are too many atall. Reality shows are one of the most popular shows around at the minute. If it's BB US or another 5 year old repeat of Friends then I know what I'd choose. Plus, both hijack & BB US were on E4 rather than C4 ... they are just warming us up for BB9 ... I don't see the harm ... and I don't see how you can let a TV program get to you so much. It's odd.

If you assuming that I am depressed or bothered by it , im not , but the fact remains that I still think there are too many reality shows on.
If you ask me , the real mark of an obsession with something , and lack of other interests in the outside world , comes in the form of bashing sombody elses thread cause he dared to say a bad word about the mighty reality show.

Well, first two of the four show's you mentioned air don E4 and not C4. E4 is targeted at a younger teen audience, who are more interested in reality TV shows then the C4 audience. Plus, it's not like it's on all the time. BBUS for example airs twice a week for three hours in total.
As for C4, well there is a difference between reality TV and a reality documentary. Shows like Supernanny, Brat Camp, How Clean Is Your House? and Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares dont really go under the reality TV genre as such so I wouldnt count them.
Shipwrecked airs once a week, for and hour, for in or around 4-5 months. Again, it airs at a time targeting a teen audience so I dont see what the problem is.

No wonder why BB loses its audience, because of all the otehr channels...!! It annoys me!!! Theres like 400 channels to chose from so I dont expect reality TV's to do good anymore, but im wishing that BB9 gets a average of 4.7 million or over(which I think is impossible).

There's a difference between [i]bashing somebody's thread and giving your opinion on something. My opinion being that how reality shows are able to bother somebody so much is beyond me ... entitled to that opinion, no?
The mighty reality show ... I didn't realise he was particularly targetting Big Brother, I thought he was saying a bad word about C4 and the amount of reality shows being shown so therefore, my response wasn't in response to a bad word about Big Brother.
