Rock Rivals isn't an ITV Production. Its made by the same people as Waterloo Road, Footballers Wives and Bad Girls so it might be good :banana:

But look they've always failed on ITV, look at bad girls. It looks like it'll start good, give you a good cliff-hanger then a really bad conclusion, like them shows you mentioned. But like I said, nothings on at that time so I'll give it a shot. watch me turn around and love it now...

Bad Girls and Footballers Wives were absolutely massive, and only in their last 2 series did they start to become unpopular. Bad Girls managed 8 series, Footballers Wives got 5. Waterloo Road is going from strength to strength and the 4th series has already been commissioned for later this year before series 3 is even over.

I really enjoyed Rock Rivals and I think it was better than most of the American shows ITV are commissioning nowadays. It was good to see a well known Shed actor in the drama too (Alison Newman) I think it brought the show back down to its roots of its creators.

Karina reminded me a lot of Tanya Turner from Footballers Wives, a strong and determined woman who can resume her life through anything, and I think the show was loosely based on Footballers Wives, an aspect of the basis of the show is certainly similar.

Will definitely be watching next week. :thumbs:

Footballers wives was getting 4m a night wen they axed that & dis replaced footballers wives lol. i thought rock rivals it was rubbish IMO.

I wouldn't call 3.9 million bad. I didn't watch anyway so I wouldn't know if it was any good, it looked cr*p from the adverts.

consdering all the advertesing they had for it it is bad.

They had one advert lol, the same they'd have for any new show. 4 million is pretty good for the 9pm slot.

3.9m is really bad considering they advertised it hard for 3 weeks and promoted it on all the major TV and radio shows

Out of the new Dramas on ITV this year it has got the lowest audience for the first episode, and ratings are only going to get worse.

The show started with 4.4m viewers and by the end of show it had 3.5m viewers, so throughout the hour it lost nearly 1m viewers.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh has criticised ITV's new drama series Rock Rivals for failing to capture the drama of real-life reality shows.

The show, which stars Michelle Collins and Sean Gallagher, is based around the back stage happenings on a TV singing contest.

However, Walsh believes the programme's researchers should have had more input from those in the business if they wanted it to be realistic and a success.

Walsh told The Mirror: "There's far more drama on The X Factor in any week than there's likely to be in this whole series. I was so excited when I sat down to watch it. I expected it to be great.

"I had spent a whole day on set doing a cameo and they cut me. I was annoyed, but now I've seen it I'm glad that I ended up on the cutting room floor. It could have been so funny and real but it isn't.

"With the real thing you have more action, more drama and a lot more talent.

"They didn't capture the tension and the drama on the show between the judges and the contestants - especially the judges."

He added: "The research on this show was so poor. They should have called us."
