Spears to star in US sitcom

Britney Spears is to make a guest appearance on US sitcom How I Met Your Mother.

A CBS spokesperson confirmed that the singer will star on an upcoming episode of the show, which airs on primetime TV.

Although no further details are known, Reuters reports that the episode is likely to be recorded this week and air on March 24.

A source suggested Spears will play a doctor's office employee who falls for the main character Ted (Josh Radnor).

Spears's dad Jamie, who currently acts as co-conservator of his daughter's estate, is believed to have signed off on the project.

The show centres around Ted's attempts to find his soulmate after his best friend Marshall (Jason Segel) announces plans to propose to his girlfriend Lily (Alyson Hannigan). It also stars Neil Patrick Harris and Cobie Smulders.

Spears's last small-screen appearance was on US comedy Will & Grace in 2006.

yeah im sure the only reason hes happy is because hes getting paid,it doesent have anything to do with the fact that his daughter is getting better and is going back to doing what she loves and does best.:rolleyes:

anyway she mightnt be the best actress but its only a guest appearance.

No one said she was the best actress, she's just going on the show because she loves it and asked if she could play a small part, and they obviously liked her enough to agree. Even if she isn't the best, she's put in a great deal of effort.

I don't even think she's getting paid for it, she asked to be on it.

Mine and millions of others. If you think Britney can act then we need to have a serious talk. Britney is a pop singer who, due to her high proflie, is offered acting roles. She doesn't need to be Dame Judi Dench in order to get acting work which is good because, trust me, she aint no Dame Judi or Meryl Streep and thats for sure.

Why on earth would she go low key? Why should she or anyone go for small crap things when there are bigger better things on offer!? Besides it's not like it'll make any difference to how bad the paps already treat her!?

I havn't seen Crossroads but I watched the Will and Grace episodes, because Britney was in it, I CAN'T STAND that show. :yuk: It was a long while ago but I can remember it being a real let down, mainly because she played a really sh!t character with the most ANNOYING accend ever!
