I know I am know angel, but can people take the time to read the forum rules.

The main points I think that need attention are -

Post your topics in the right area
& Dont insult others.

Thanks!

Next time from teacher Sam....

...and? Why would those threads need bumping by you? It's up to the mods to judge who's breaking rules, even if they're not online... :laugh2:

Magic, I think we are not blind, we know there are rules, your idea was not bad but you are not a mod, and it's the mod's job to do that.

Just read all the rules, I was wondring one thng though. How can a picture have a virus? I copied rules nd put them here

Rules
These are the rules that you must abide by, to be able to participate on the ThisisBigBrother.com Forums:

Main rules...

1. Treat other forum members with respect, no insults. *Important*

2. Type posts properly and don't use text speech.

3. Don't post anything offensive.

---------------------------

Long version of rules

a) You are solely responsible for any content that is posted on the forum from your username.

b) Your posts on the forum are non-confidential. Any ideas, feelings or thoughts in your posts are available to the public.

c) Do not use ThisisBigBrother.com as a way of advertising your product, website or company. Also do not use the forum as a way of collecting people's email addresses and using them for junk and SPAM e-mail.

d) You will not impersonate any other user or entity whilst on the ThisisBigBrother.com Forums.

e) Do not upload any information, files, pictures or other materials that contain viruses or are able to disrupt or damage this community.

f) Do not post any threads that violates another person's copyright, or right to privacy, or any other proprietary right.

g) We do not endorse external web sites that may be listed or found in the ThisisBigBrother.com Forums.

h) Administrators of them forum have the right to delete, modify or change the content of any post at any time for any reason without notification to anyone. They can also ban or restrict forum members for any reason at anytime. If a moderator edits your post on the forum do not remove the edits.

i) We do not allow 'text speech' to be used on the forum. Text speech was designed for mobile phones, not online communities. Please read http://www.thisisbigbrother.com/forum/topic29297.htm which will give you more details. Also, we do not allow posts written solely in CAPITAL LETTERS. Not only is it annoying to read, it disrupts the flow of the forum.

j) Posts which insult or direct profanity towards another member, will immediate be deleted, or edited out. This may lead to a ban.

Failure to abide by any of the above rules may result in a permanent banning from the forum. If you do not agree with any of the above rulings then please contact me and explain your reasoning's, I will then look into the situation. Contact me direct at mark@thisisbigbrother.com

Does it matter if he's reminding people of the rules? At least it's a sign of responsibility...something lacking in a few members.

Callum

Why post the rules for bridge? :S

Callum

I was wondering why bridge posted out the rules. Seems a bit pointless to me, but ah well :/

If you ask me , one of the things that drags TiBB down is not the abscence of real mods , its these members who act as if they really ARE mods ... the righteous police going around upholding rules and morals in the abscence of the mods. Its really , really annoying.

On another forum I post on, old timers who are not mods regularly instruct new members to read the rules when ever the new poster makes their maiden post.

Upholding of proper decorum and advising of proper etiquette is the responsibility of us all, the mods just happen to have the power to take certain actions us lesser mortals can not.

I dont think that there is anything wrong with gently reminding others that there are rules of the forum. The rules are what make the forum run smoothly.

I think everyone needs to be reminded of the rules every now and then, I dont see why peoples feathers were so ruffled by this thread.

Thread pruned to remove posts not related to this topic.

ye problemn with so many rules is people start depending on the rules. its like nursery school.

when theres not many rules people learn to be independant and self discipline then there would nt be so many childish arguments.

rules r 4 foolz

Shaun
13-03-2008, 03:45 PM
No, when there's not many rules there's just the same number of rule-breaking without any punishment. :)

molecular
13-03-2008, 03:57 PM
ye exactly. like nursery school with punishment, so you end up with no intelligent debaters cause they off looking for freedom of speech.

people who dont n eed to be puinished dont stick around nursery school enviroment so you got to take steps to make debate forums good place for debate - that means free speech.

Please don't post insults even in jest, people don't know you are being funny and could report the post which could then lead to a warning.

Sort of my point, I happen to know it is in jest but other people might not. That why it is best to avoid insults at all costs. They put people off posting and make site unfriendly.

Thanks welcome backs guys and gals. :xyxwave:

That would just escalate things and create even greater confusion as to if the original remark was an insult or not.

Oh there was another Amy of course but she never created crazy threads either.
