The ******ers then helped themselves to our house keys and stole our 2 cars! Only had the Espace for 2 weeks or so!!!!
I am lost, Red is lost......we dont know how the hell they got in. No windows broken, no sign of forced entry NOTHING!
SOCO have just been and aparently this was the 2nd break in last night in the area, that also had no sign of forced entry.

Oh god Kiz I am so sorry to hear that, it is such a violation when someone breaks into your home. You are left with so much to do in terms of police, insurance etc.. as well as losing your property. I am sure the comps held a lot of precious photos of the kids as well. All of this in the middle of such a busy time in your lives as well
Anything at all that I can do then drop me an email.
hugs for you and Mr Moon

I am sorry to hear about this Kiz. I hope they catch them quickly. Somebody should rob their homes and see how they like it. I hope you get things sorted soon.

Thats the way they do it these days. They get in and take anything that they can carry. Laptops, mobiles, game consoles etc. Then they look for your car keys to steal that. The same thing happened to my old boss while he was awake in the house. These guys dont play.

I think it's way too harsh for robbers, it works for paedophiles. I think jail is the right sentence for robbers, not castration.
And for the record, castration doesn't include removing boobs.

Jail isn't an adequate punishment IMO. A great percentage go back to doing what they were in for when they are released.
Other threats are IMO better punishments.

But castration won't make robbers nicer, it's not like paedophiles, it's a completely different thing. Castration is not linked to robbers, your point does not make sense since the robbers still can rob.

Right, time to explain :joker:
Its a frequent figure of speech used over here especially in the north (at least the castrate bit is) and it wasn't intended to be taken literally
But anyway, with regards to the poster who suggested Kiz is getting hot-headded, I think she has remained rather calm considering the circumstances and I don't think people can fully appreciate the feeling of being robbed until it happens to you.

Jail is the only punishment for burglary. Its true that a great percentage shall reoffend and for those that do, there shall be a lovely cell waiting for them when they return. and they will get caught.
If you take the law into your own hands you shall more than likely make a mistake and get caught, then put away. Maybe you shall share the same prison, how ironic. Don't forget CCTV trails. A criminal has to get to the scene of the crime and then leave. Then you also have to bypass DNA. Also fingerprints.

no news on the cars. I think they will run them until the tank is empty then dump it.
Whats really weird is that I had a box on top of the bookcase which was filled with seal ornaments which I have collected since I was about 7. I had put them in this box. which used to contain wine in it. They have taken that too thinking it was a box of wine

Burning the car out removes finger prints etc from the car. It destroys any evidence they might have left behind.
However in this case they decided to burn the car out about half a mile from the local fire station so not all the car was burnt out. The police are going over the car tomorrow to see what they can find in the way of fingerprints etc.
I'm now waiting for the other car to turn up in the same state in a few days time.

It just makes it worse that they`ve now mindlessly destroyed something im sure you both worked so hard to pay for and maintain.Scum is what they are and they need to be found and locked up for good.

Thank you supernoodles! for you comment to the thread.
Having someone come into you house and nick your stuff while we were all asleep was bad enough, then things got worse when we noticed the cars had gone, and now we have found the first car burnt out and I know the same fate awaits the other car soon. Well it a bit like living in hell. I'm just waiting for the next call from the police. The remaining car had more fuel than then the first one they burnt out but it can only be a matter of days.
We can get another car, and replace the stuff in the house that was lost, but the problem is how do you rebuild the confidence of our two eldest girls who, are sharing a bed because they are scared to sleep alone?
I'm so glad that we will be getting out of this horrid city soon. Lets hope the girls can leave the bad memories behind them.
~Kizwiz~
20-03-2008, 06:31 AM
The realisation of whats happened sunk in last. I must have been running on adrenaline from the shock.
All I can say about things is I am heartbroken.
The fact that they have found the 1st car means that we will get the book price for it. The only thing is, we've had it for 3 week and will only get 80% of what we bought it for
Its left us all so insecure, that before bed we have to see if we are being watched. I know that the chances of them coming back for the rest in miniscule but you try stopping me thinking that.

At least we've been able to occupy our mind with the buy and sale of the houses.

Its a little village in Rutland (near Leicestershire)
Its a beautiful white cottage that we both fell in love with. Its got a massive family room just for the kids, and a lovely lounge and dining room with a coal fire.
Its the perfect place for us, but we havent exchanged contracts yet so we're still crossing our fingers.
It would mean a completely different life from the lone we have now. The kids can walk to school because its about 100 metres away. No traffic, no noise, no street lamps so we can see the stars.

The place we are buying was repossessed from the owner, so we've got a steal of a house. And because of the repossession we have to exchange and complete within 28 days. We dont have to move straight away as we still will have our house in leeds that needs doing up before selling, but we're hoping to be down there in 5 - 6 weeks. Red wont move there until the adsl line is connected

Good luck to you all!

Not long now. Having family around will make the world of difference. Not sure if it is any conciliation but the vast majority of burglars do not want confrontation. The second they are disturbed they are off. So please sleep well.
Have you spoke to victim support?

Its funny Doc, we just received info on victims support. But I dont know if it will help me.... its worth a shot maybe.
We're all sleeping a bit better, but its not the same and yes Sunny, its getting a little calmer here. There are still times when you forget just for one min and then it all comes flooding back and it hits you. I wish I could get rid of this heavy heart and weight thats pushing down on my shoulders and chest.
I just want to step back to Monday when everything was great.
The things that I cant get thro my head is we've had such a crappy year last year and we had managed to put all that behind us and we were on the homerun to a great year. Plus a day before it happened we went to buy a door chain but they didnt have one that would fit to our door. How ironic

I suppose.
But police have found the other car, they couldnt tell us this time where or when they found it but they think they have the keys.:puzzled:
I think that they might have got some prints off the 1st car they found, raided them and found the Red car.
I am not sure I want it back tho. I feel really weird about going in it after those scumbags stole it

Victim support can be really useful Kiz, not only do they offer emotional support but they can help with practical things, so give them a chance to help you.
I understand how you feel about the car Kiz, but remember you get it back and you have taken a little back of what they took from you. It is about control, you can take a little control back in your life.
It is a really heavy burden to bare, you worry about the kids and what could have happened, but remember they were cowards, they didnt try to come near you, they crept around so as not to be caught. You and Red are the brave ones you have faced this head on and dealt with what has been thrown at you. Keep dealing with things and you are the ones that have won as you have not let them beat you.
Hope this makes sense

Thanks guys,
Its been a week and my mind is getting worse. My moods are become very black and I feel like someone is pressing down on my chest nearly the whole time. I havent plucked up courage to phone victim support because I am scared they will think I am not genuine.
The Red car is in the process of being checked and then I guess it will be returned to us. The only thing is that I dont want anything back from the skags who stole it and I dont want to touch anything that they took away from us.
Its all ******ed up basically

Kiz honey it is normal to feel this way, it is still really early days.
Why on earth would victim support not think you were genuine. You have been through a terrible ordeal that has been documented by the police they know you are genuine. If you think you can gain a little support then I would say go for it.
You take care honey xxx

Hey love. Please give them a shout. They will (unfortunately) have delt with 100's of cases like this. I am not trying to lessen what has happened to you and how you feel. But they will have seen it before. This is the first (and hopefully last) time you have been through it. They may not be able to help, but then they may just be able to give that one small bit of advice that really helps.

Hey,
Things are ok-ish thanks for asking. Still no cars, Red went to see the one that wasnt burnt out, we think its hit something because its got a dent in the bonnet and a wing mirror missing. Plus the toerags have put a cigarette out on the dash.
We wont get it back until its fixed and we should be exchanging on our house next week!
With regards to the espace, well the insurance are fleecing us on the quote. So its going to take some twoing and throwing back to negotiate a decent offer.
The house stuff, well thats where its gets annoying. We were supposed to have a claims investigator come out to see us last Friday only they didnt turn up. They said they would be with us before 1pm and call before they arrived. No call no visit. We rang them back and they said we were out which is completely ridiculous as the kids had been playing in the garden all morning and the front door was let open too. They said they also put a card through the door and that there was no sign of life at the house.... complete bollocks!
Insurance companies suck, they treat us like the fraudsters and we're only claiming what we got nicked
