During BB:CH it wasn't really busier, there were just more posts.

When everything started happening with BB8 the place was a lot busier. People were posting all the newspaper articles, the starting date as soon as it was announded etc etc. When the first "eye" advert aired I couldn't keep up with the threads they were going so fast! First pics of the house etc are always on immediately and loads of people come on to view them. So yes. It does get busier.

Too right mate. The forum will be buzzing by the time BB9 comes around.

Didn't the forum crash once on opening night? Or am I imagining that?

It gets wayyyy busier. Like 100+ people online,8 pages of topics etc.
