I was on Ugly Betty Wiki and i found out that Ugly Betty starts again on Friday 30th May 2008.....

Taken from Wiki.......
"So far only 13 episodes have aired but production was halted in November 2007 due to the Writers' Strike. New episodes will not air on US television until April 24, 2008. The second half of season 2 will begin airing Friday, May 30 in the UK."

Could this be the Launch date of Big Brother?

Hhhhmmm?

For me its a bit late the 30th, but it was late last year - what do you think?

Eye 2008 who claims to be an insider said BB9 would start on the 30th.its also started on the 30th last year

Well, traditionally the live launches are usually in the last week of May, I'd say thats about right :) C4 tend to start new shows/series in groups.

Can't see it launching on 30th May because it will be up against BGT live show.

I think Channel 4 will have more sense and launch it mid-May, then give it a 10pm home for the first few weeks to keep it out of the way of Britain's Got Talent.

I also don't think they'll revert to a Friday launch.

Spike

I would say it will launch the second or third week of May because it will start before BGT live shows and complete the 13 week run before September. But if there is no way of scheduling BB around BGT a June launch could be possible

Benji

June - no, as if......Actually, i think i would prefer that......

More time to wait, but it will make it more exciting and better, more organised

The live sows of BGT were from 9pm - 10.30pm last year and when BB went up aganst it the ratings were just over 2m.

If the BGT live shows were at the same time this year BB would be damaged because BB will be on at 9pm or 10pm. If C4 have any sense they well launch BB after the BGT live shows.

Ah, but last year there was no News at Ten, and ITV won't move that because when Britain's Got Talent on, they are probably expecting increased ratings.

Good point I forgot about the News at Ten. That means BB could launch the week before and have that 10pm slot without any real competition.

Yeah, i forgot about the News at Ten too - lol - Erm, Yeah i week before the live shows would be a good idea, to get more veiwers in - Hopefully, BB will have a good Launch Night....:D

Also if BGT finished at 10pm then BB could gain some extra viewers from it

Benji

Yeah, i think BGT will be on 9-10

i hope they dont put BB Launch up against some big contender like last year (soap awards and the apprentice final week)

BB9 NEEDS a really top rating launch with about 6-7m viewers..

i think the best time would be mid may

It Just says May on the soap awards website, it doesn't give a date.

I think Thursday 22nd May....

Tom

The soap awards are usually on the Wednesday around the 18th May. It wasn't the BB8 launch that went up against it, plus even if it did BB and Soap Awards attract two different audiences so both can have healthy figures without denting the other. When BB has been up against Celebrity X Factor, Soapstar Superstar and Britain's Got Talent its been dented quite badly. They need to avoid Britain's Got Talent this year.

I think they will launch on a wednesday again unless this is going to be the longest big brither and therefore it would start on a tuesday my guess is it launches on either wednesday the 21st, wednesday the 28th or wednesday the 4th of june.

Spike

I can't see it launching on a Wednesday, competition from The Apprentice and maybe the soap awards. I think a Thursday launch is more likely.

if they launch thursday they would be shrtening he sereis ( I know its only 1 day but I thought they always had the same length or added a bit longer each year)

It will probably launch in between the 28th and 30th of may

Spike
30-03-2008, 11:33 PM
There is no way it will launch between the 28th and 30th of May because of the BGT live shows. I think it will launch the week after or more likely the week before.

Conor
30-03-2008, 11:34 PM
I'm hoping the second week of June! It'll end the show more to the end of summer :dance2: But I dunno if it'll work with 13 weeks :(

Spike
30-03-2008, 11:38 PM
If it launches anytime in June the series will run over into September.

The Channel 4 Sales website should have the May programme highlights posted from tomorrow.

That should give a big clue whether a May or June launch is likely.
