The start date will not be confirmed until around two-three weeks in advance. In addition, if this was the start date, Channel 4 would have confirmed it by now, and it sure as hell would have been announced on Heatworld.

This is VERY unreliable.

Well Dermot used to do a column for them. It does to be one of the best sites for celeb news around though so maybe BB thinks it will get more viewers by giving the info to Heat.

'Heat' and BB have the same target audience, so it makes sence for BB to link up with 'Heat'. It's gets BB more viewers and 'Heat' more readers.

remember the AWFUL ratings BB got last year due to Britans Got talent?well the 6th of June is a week after BGT.so i think the producer would know better to start after BGT

but im edging towards May already as BB9 is listed under the Spring highlights. June is not Spring!

7 years on and people still don't realise BB launches in May?

BB1 is the only exception, it launched in July. BB2-8 have all launched in May and so will BB9 (and so will all future series as well). The reason BB7 launched mid-May was to get a head start on ITV's shows such as X Factor: Battle of the Stars and Soccer Aid.

Big Brother 9 will launch in the last couple of weeks of May.

May 23rd would be ideal in my opinion. I'd like a Friday launch as well this year. The last Friday launch was BB6! :shocked:

Launch Night doesn't feel the same unless it's on a Friday. Last year's mid-week launch didn't feel like a main event.

i know yeah... I was even on holidays last year... so it didnt really matter to me... but it still felt weird on Wednesday... Thursday, I could tolerate... but Friday is just ideal.

For me.. Friday 16th May, Friday 23rd May would be great! (BB producers take note if reading this)

I will REFUSE to diminish my soul and watch a JUNE big brother launch!!:flower::wink:

BB5 lanched on friday 28th May 04. CBB4 was the first non-friday launch- i think

Yepp BB5 launched on Friday because it was the day of the Friends Finale(Which I cried), Yepp I love Friends soo much.

I'd like a Thursday launch for a number of reasons.

1) Higher viewing figures- shuts the papers up about it being a failure
2) Everyone will be talking about it the next day :colour:

But if they do that, it would mean they have to do something special on the Friday, I don't like just highlights shows on a Friday. It doesn't feel right unless Davina and the mob are there :cheer:

I've worked out it should be about 7 or 8 weeks till Launch Night.

I've just had a thought... does anyone remember on the Finale night last year, when Davina said that Auditions for Big Brother 9 will begin in November?
If that was true, then why would they start Auditions early if Big Brother 9 Launch Night isn't scheduled till 6th June?
Normally Auditions start ataround January time, so the producers obviously either has something big planned (a possibility), launching the show earlier than usual (highly unlikely) or they just needed more time (another possibility).
Does anyone else have any thoughts on this?
