They're just rumours. The tabloids rarely get it right. And yes, potential contestants are strictly forbidden from revealing whether they have been shortlisted.

And Scampi, no need to speak to members like that.

I didn't say it meanly.

Shabaz and Jade both got caught before entering the house and they still got in and im sure in one series a news paper report every single housemate that was going to enter so they all had to be taken into hiding

As far as I know, all housemate identites leaked to the press BEFORE they go into hiding are automatically taken off of Big Brother's shortlist. However, it is at Big Brother's discretion if he discounts them afterm they have been taken into hiding.

they are struggling for potential housemates though, so maybe this year they will make exceptions

How do you know?

I think GiGi_BB is referring to the low amount of people who auditioned in cities this year. Wasn't it about 52 in Newcastle?

52 is enough auditionees in the first place, in fact I'd think a lower amount of auditionees would be better because they can keep a closer eye on all of them.

The tabloids made up that figure for the Newcastle auditions.

All they print is lies.

By the way the orginal Jan story broke in the Daily Record not the Daily Star. They just ripped it off as did many of the other papers,

As I said earlier in the thread: "As far as I know, all housemate identites leaked to the press BEFORE they go into hiding are automatically taken off of Big Brother's shortlist. However, it is at Big Brother's discretion if he discounts them afterm they have been taken into hiding."

Big Brother confirmed during January the report was wrong and that they were happy with the turnout.

Not all becasue jade goody told a few people that she was going into the BB3 house and then they told everyone else and then the news paper rang up the dentists she worked at and asked for her and then a big brother producer came and took her into hiding.

Here's a video clip of the Newcastle auditions. Looks like a lot more than 52 there even if you discount Michelle Bass:

It was actually the Sun that got all of the BB7 housemates right not the Daily Star.
