I don't have any reason to not like a Friday launch. I just don't want one this year lol Although I did last year.

Also, I don't have any reason to why I do want a Thursday launch? It would have a few advantages.

It has to be on a Friday. I don't really think the ratings would be any different to if it was on a Thursday. It feels better on a Friday, more of an event.

BB1, BB2, BB3, BB4, BB5 and BB6's launches were all on a Friday, it didn't seem a disadvantage and people still talked about it the next day or on the monday. There isn't really much to "talk" about anyway other than the housemate's names and VTs. Casual viewers aren't bothered by much else. It's the tabloids stories and spin they put on it which is most influential to the public, which will still happen irrespective of the day it launches on (if anything there would be more coverage if it was on a Friday because you have the weekend papers the next two days).

If it was better and more beneficial to launch on a Thursday then why not move the evictions to a Thursday? The answer; it just wouldn't feel the same.

What advantages would big brother have for starting on a particular day? the start is always late anyway so even for those at schools or working it shoud not matter

Ermm, everyone working doesn't have the same hours. And I'm sure there would be a dramatic diffirence if it was a Sunday launch. Secondly. It wouldn't matter if the launch was at 6pm or even 11pm. Time isn't an issue as long as its not to early or to late.

Thursday launch:

- Gives time for news to spread
- Make's way for a possible Friday twist/eviction next day
- Works out to have a Saturday Finalie
- Alot of us go out on a Friday. I know I wouldn't ruin my evening for the sake of a TV show.

I presume you think evictions should be moved to a Thursday as well then?

Nope. I usually only see about 7 live evictions per series and if I like the housemate I'll watch it on youtube.

thb at the end of the day its only a TV show. Only a real saddo would divert their whole personal life to watch a 1 hr show.

But by your logic, it would be more successful if it was on a Thursday, regardless of whether you personally watch it or not.

Only the launch. I never mentioned anything about it being more successful, at least not ratings wise anyway.

Generally people work (9) to (5) schools a bit less. I am sorry if people will be working late and miss big brother but thats just regrettable. Record the damn thing and watch it when you get home if that is the way your work pattern is presented to you or get another job :laugh:

A Thursday launch would be ideal, as someone has noted above, it would be great for a Friday night twist.

I don't really mind as I have to wait the morning after but as I don't go to school on saturday morning then it's easier to watch it. Therefore I go for Friday night.

Sunday without a question.

Each year they launch towards the end of the week - but then lose their audience at the weekend. If they launch on the Sunday it gives them a week to build a healthy audience and to establish the regular scheduling pattern.

I'd launch Sunday 1st June, and run for 90 days. They should then skip the first week eviction and then that leaves 11 evictions (Starting Friday 13th) before the final week - so supposing there are no quitters it completely cuts down the number of housemates required.

They could go back to something like BB6 had and start with 13, sending 3 more in a few weeks in - and I don't think the format would feel stretched out at all unlike BB7/8. It could quite naturally stretch to 90 days without sending in half a dozen HMs with a few weeks to go - and without the need to keep six in for the final week.

I would love Sunday so the next Monday wouldn't be depressing as usual and would be loads to talk about.
