Now that the Spice Girls have taken their final bows, Sporty Spice is getting ready to go it alone.
The girl group extraordinaire wrapped up what they claimed to be their last tour ever in February with a couple of shows in Toronto. The Canadian city won the title "Spice City" after winning a worldwide vote to have the girls play there on their reunion world tour. After the girls' successes in Canada, Melanie Chisholm (AKA Mel C or Sporty Spice) is going to make Canada the first place she promotes her new record This Time.
Though the album was released in the UK in October it didn't hit store shelves on this side of the pond till earlier this month. The album has already been climbing the Canadian charts and spawned the hit single, "Carolyna".
A far cry from the choreographed dance moves and Cavalli gowns on the Spice tour, Melanie C will play clubs across the country. She has even started a MySpace page especially for her Canadian tour http://www.myspace.com/melanieclovescanada.
Here's where she's headed across Canada:
May 4, Montreal, QC – Club Soda
May 5, Ottawa, ON – Bronson Centre
May 8, Toronto, ON – Phoenix Concert Theatre
May 9, London, ON – The Music Hall
May 11, Winnipeg, MB – Garrick Centre
May 12, Saskatoon, SK – The Odeon
May 14, Edmonton, AB – The Starlite Room
May 15, Calgary, AB – MacEwan Ballroom
May 17, Vancouver, BC – The Plaza Club
