According to GMTV, 56% of people say that the worst thing about Britain at the moment is the Bad mannered people.

Bad manners include spitting on the floor(I agree, my friends do it and its really annoying), pushing in queue's and not saying please and thank you.
Anyone suprised by this?

Just a little joke. I hate bad manners. An example of what infuriates me is when you hold a door open for someone and they just walk through and don't say thanks.

I was on the tube the other day, and at the entrance there was a begger. I don't usually give money to them but she was an elderly lady who looked very unkempt and she only asked for 10p. I gave a 50p, she looked at it, turned her nose up and just walked off. I felt like grabbing it back off her, I mean a thank you wouldn't go a miss. Elderly people are always saying how the younger generation are so rude nowadays but I find old people far more rude and miserable.

Luva, that is my pet hate too. I always say something to them.

I think it's the case pretty much everywhere. It happens everywhere and that's a huge problem.

I know!! Elderly people think we are the rude ones. There are some that say Thanks You and then there some that just walk through the door and give you an evil look.

Another example of bad manners is when people are walking enormously slow in the street so you overtake them because it's frustrating, and while you're getting past them you nudge one on accident and you apologise, but then they proceed to throw insults and ask what you're doing!?

Ditto to that! I don't see why the elderly should get anymore respect than anyone else. Everyone should be treated with equal respect, but they're never respectful to the young! And they ALWAYS glare at you if you're sitting down on the train or stand right next to you(actually thats most people to be honest). I'll give my seat up for someone on crutches or someone's who pregnant or someone if they ask! But they just GLARE,it drives me insane.

*Sorry,I'm not in a very good mood at the moment*

edit:I sort of sounded rude there,I'm not I swear,I'm always polite(well unless I'm in a bad mood,hence above post)

In this town I was in for a while there were "professional beggars". People who would be smuggled in from Romania, given accomodation in some hospital, given a baby if they need to look extra pityful, and are told to go onto the streets with the babyand bring the earnings home to the guys they work for. One day I was in town and there was one of these women there I was looking at something in the window and my friend had gone a head without me noticing. So I called them but they didn't here me, so I ran down to them. I accidently splashed this women by stepping a puddle. So she starts screaming at. I just walked away but I was really tempting to go back and say:"If you're so concerned for your babys sake, the FFS get of the disgusting street and get a proper job, so then you might be somehat able to give that baby a proper life, that is if you don't drink your money away!"

Really ?
Once, I was at the doctors and a guy entered, sat down and said 'Hey man what have you been up to today ?'
Then I replied 'Do we know each other ? No so go back to your business '
I seriously don't like when random people think I'm their friends in an inappropriate place.

It would be nice if more people did that. I stand on the tube every morning and look at everyone staring blankly into space.

I do not believe for one second that bad manners is what is wrong with Great Britain. What is wrong with this country is that the prime minister and the rest of them are helping the wrong people.

Rich people

Rich people

What's wrong with Rich people ? Do you really see a society with no rich ? Then excuse me but nothing would work because thanks to them for investing money pretty much everywhere.

And being rich is good, of course it does not buy love, happiness or whatsoever but you have a great way of life.
People who react like that are only jealous because some people succeeded more than you did.

I hate bad manners, it really annoys me. Like someone blowing their nose at the table when others are eating that can send me into orbit. My eldest daughter who has her own home and child did it when we were out for lunch recently and I gave her such a dogging and lecture about manners, she will not do it again lol! also mobile phones at a table when you are having a meal, how rude is that?

I hate it when you are driving and stop when you dont have to to flash someone out who is sitting at a junction then they drive off without even acknowledging you, cheeky gits!!!

This being my pet hate I could go on all day about it lol so I will stop now and step away from the thread

Oh my god, I am a stickler for manners. I have been raised to respect people and to always use p's & q's.

I hate it when people are rude and dont acknowledge things like holding a door open, giving up a seat to people who need it or any kind of simple good will.

Table manners are my biggest pet peeve, to eat with your mouth open or talk while mouth full is disgusting, to leave the table while people are still eating without excusing yourself is just plain rude and to pick up something o your plate that you should use a fork for while at the table is horrid horrid horrid

I am a firm believer that manners do not cost anything

LOL

You two guys are getting really wound up. I'd pay good money to see Sunny give someone a dogging.

I'm a bit of a sitckler too. My daughter can be quite rude. Not surprising as her mothers side of the family are chavz. I'm constantly berating her for not speaking to people properley.

I see alot of bad manners around. I myself am very well-mannered which I am proud of but sometimes I can get really annoyed at other people and there lack of manners. For example:

People spitting in school, it's just disgusting

In school dinner queues, when people just push in, it's as if they have more of a right to get served first when other people will patiently wait their turn.

There was one time when I was on the bus on the way home and I gave my seat to an old lady as the bus was full, so I stood up. And just as I stand up I get this old man getitng off the bus who pushes me and says get out of the way, stupid girl.

It annoys me alot when people think it is just the youth who are ill-mannered.

Lol Okayy I push in lunch queue's at school but i push past my friends so they dont ahave a problem. When my friends or people in my year want to go infront of me, i allow them but when its some random person in the school, I just start having a go.

Also, it gets on my nerves when the teacher is wrong and Im right and they're telling me off, i just wont listen. Once a teacher pointed right at my face so I just said "You want to stop pointing at me, i find it really rude". I guess Im really patronising.

Well if we became a socialist state then we may get somewhere, but I dont agree with everyone being the same. If you work hard or are just plain lucky and manage to own a great deal of money then good on you lol, but the government tend to give rich people a better deal.

I think we have come to a point now whereby any current/future prime minister wont make a change or try to improve anything for rich or poor folk, it is not in their best interests really

Scampi I feel exactly the same as you, Id love to have loads of money who wouldnt? well Howard Hughes was that exception :laugh:

The government do tend to take care of rich people, they do like them Scampi its to do with tax and how much they pay + the more you pay, the more you can fiddle to (so Ive been told)

I understand what your saying. You can get the satisfaction of them breathing in all those exhaust fumes from the car park :laugh:

The government wont be doing all of this unless there is a good reason for them to do so. There will be something in it for them, I shall allow you to guess (okay)
