Former asylum seeker Ahmed confessed today he feels like he is an outsider in the Big Brother house.

The 44-year-old Muslim property developer from Liverpool fled Somalia during the civil war.

He is now wondering why the others may have problems with him.

``They think terrorism, negative things... it`s being from Somalia, a refugee, asylum seeker,`` he told Big Brother in the diary room.

``They try to put a fence between us.``

So far the teetotaller has shunned the pleasures of the whirlpool at dawn with his fellow housemates, preferring to go to bed instead.

And he is finding it difficult to enter into group banter.

``With some people, I am invisible,`` he confided in hairdresser Dan. ``They make no eye contact.``

Ahmed, who is now a British citizen, has already asked to see the Big Brother therapist.

Of Michelle, he said: ``I tried with her. She nearly blanked me.``

Jason has made a good impact on him, even though the Scot walks around the house without his pants on.

He thinks both Shell and Vanessa are nice although a little difficult to chat to.

Of the outspoken Jay, he said: ``Alone, we have a lot in common.``

He hopes that he and Kitten, whom he describes as ``wonderful``, will be friends outside the house.

Marco has said he will make an effort to build bridges with Ahmed.

Earlier today the housemates had a surprise visitor - a frog.

Kitten, Stuart, Emma, Michelle and Marco were left wondering what to do with it.

Kitten was scared that someone might step on it if it was left in the garden.

Stuart ran a bath for it and made a trip to the diary room to ask for instructions on how to look after it.

Staunch vegetarian Michelle said it should be put back where it was found and left in peace, while Marco left the frog in a dark corner.
