14 housemates: 7 girls, 7 boys. We will get enough housemates not to put some others until week 6/7.
I would also like 4 latecomers but obviously not during a HND twist.

I'd like to see 14 - 7 boys, 7 girls. That was how many went in BB7 and I thought it was just about right. I'd like a maximum of 3 housemates to enter later in the series, no more than that, in an interesting twist which is not predictable like secret housemates living in a crappy house next door. Also I'd like for the late housemates to enter about 4 weeks into the series, no later. This way they can remain in hiding after the original housemates go in.

I don't like loads of HM's on launch night. It's hard to keep track of whos in there.
But then again, I hate it when loads come in late.

I'm going for 12/13.

i doubt they would put people in hiding for that length of time

2 weeks pre season and then 4 weeks in is a month and a half.... far to long to be in lockdown.

I said 12 then during the series 4 extras and 1 ex-housemate returning

just a thought :)

It's not that bad. It isn't exactly incarceration, just no access to TV, radio, newspapers etc. Going by what some desperate wannabes do to try and get in the house, a 6 week holiday is nothing really. I just hate it when newcomers know everything about the housemates, it completely ruins the point of the show.

Well as this one is 13 weeks. We need at least 16 housemates altogether for 4 in the final. So i think 14 on launch and 4 late comers, and if a housemate walks or is ejected ones for them aswell.

12 HM's is good enough

I think 12 is a nice amount, but 14 would be a maximum for me. Any more than 14 would be pushing it.

14 housemates. 7 boys, 7 girls.

No more than 18 housemates for the whole series.

16 HMs. 8 boys, 8 girls. That means that everyone goes in on launch night, For once please let that happen.................................

I agree that 18 housemates should be the absolute limit.

I'm not too bothered how they'd split that up - 14 on launch/4 latecomers, 15 on launch/3 latecomers etc.

I realised the problem with BB8

Too many people, they pretty much brought in a new bunch of HM's with some left over

I'd like to see the producers make a bold step like only have say 8 HM's on launch. Then gradually add two every two days till they get up the full quota. Just to mix it up and make it different.

I think 12, 6 boys, 6 girls

5 boys, 5 girls. A maximum of 3 housemates to arrive late no later week 4.

Why are people saying 7 girls, 7 boys? Surely it should be based on entertainment value, rather than evening out the sexes.

I voted 12.

14 HM's 6 boys 6 girls 2 ******s.

12 HM's no late arrivals. Unless more than say 2 people walk. There doesn't need to be an eviction every week. A few weeks off would be nice.

Lookinag at BB-rod-BB's BB8 banner , the number of housemates just look ridiculous. There are about 6 that didn't contribute anything at all. This year they need to focus on getting the right housemates not just any random ones to boost the numbers.

(14) housemates maybe (13) I would prefer all men to go in first then let in the women, maybe half and half

Yeah, in BB6, because Makosi was the unlucky 13th housemate.

I'm going for 9

I think it would be really interesting to put a small amount of housemates in at the beginning,

I think it would be such a good idea if 4 were put in and they were in the house for about 5 days together, then all the other housemates arrived thinking it was launch night, and a task would be for the other 4 to pretend to them that it's been going on for ages adn that it's the last week, and they're the last four housemates and then they would have to be really pissed off and pretend that big brother has started big brother again!

Or it'd be good if they had to pretend that they arrived that night as well...

I'd like 14 housemates, with preferably no late-comers at all during the series.
