If you don't want to go to your GP, and that really should be your first port of call, then you could try NHS direct on 0845 4647 It is open 24 hours a day.

Asking people on a forum who are not qualified can be a dangerous thing.

Even if they were it would be hard for them to do it on line. Even if you go to NHS Direct they will have a best guess and then tell you to go to your GP to get a proper diagnosis.

Go to your GP. It could be nothing. There could be an underlying problem. Your GP will have your notes and know your past.

That really is the only advice I can give.

That is by the by. I may be. I may not. The best advice is to see your own GP.

I could be a qualified mechanic and if you came on saying that when you reverse
on full left hand lock you hear a loud "clunk"

At this point I could hazard a guess whilst sucking air in through my teeth and shaking my head, that your universal ball joint has shot it mate. But I could be wrong and would advise you to see your local mechanic.

Ooh. Is this a guessing game? In that case, I shall say you are not.
