Britains Got Talent - 5th Semi-Final

Just thought I would start this thread ahead of tomorrow's semi-final. Discuss here :thumbs: Anybody know who is performing tomorrow. I don't know the full list but I'm supporting, Scala - the violin people - I think they're called Scala.

Escala, Craig Harper, Per Diem, Nemesis, Madonna Decena, Anya, Diva Las Vegas, Caburlesque.

What the hell's going on with tomorrow?! Too many good acts to choose from - this will be so difficult.

There are five acts where it'll be very difficult to choose. Per Diem have a lot of likeability... but, again, there's that argument ('they should've been on X Factor instead') and the fact that there's more variety in terms of talent. Craig Harper was a lot of fun and has talent in terms of impersonating, but he didn't give out star quality. If his performance tomorrow is like his audition, I can't see him going through to the finals as much as I enjoyed it. However, if he works on his confidence, hopefully this opportunity will give him ample experience to improve further.

Personally, I think it'll be between Escala, Madonna Decena, Nemesis. With Madonna, I hope the 'X factor' argument isn't brought up, simply because she doesn't seem to be doing it for the fame and to release an album - besides, I don't know if she would gain a large fanbase had she gone on to do the X factor. At the same time, I hope her (albeit emotional) story doesn't detract from her talent - she can really sing! Escala were fantastic at the audition and I can see them doing the same again... the girls have talent. And Nemesis are fantastic dancers! I guess because Flava didn't get through, I'm hoping they do.

I'm backing Scala cos the cello player was on the TT tour,although I dod actually like them.I really like Per Diem as well. And then theres Craig Harper and Madonna!

I know - this is why it's so difficult. I've tried to analyse every little bit though, as usual!

Overall, I'd say my favourite tomorrow will most likely be Escala - especially if they're even better than their audition.

WOW! This is the hardest Semi in my opinion! 3 acts are just fantastic

Madonna - Voice of an angel!! She a fantastic woman!
Escalla - WOW! They a gorgeous! And there music is Magical!
Nemesis - They are amazing, dancers with a lot of talent!

Tomorrow is going to be super hard!!

I think tomorrow is going to be very over-rated, going by the auditions.

Scala are extremely over-rated. Yes they are pretty, but they are average at what they do. They bored me during their audition.

Madonna is another very over-rated contestant IMO. She is god, but not great. She wouldnt make it very far in a show like X Factor.

I think Anya & Craig will be just be fill-in acts.

Nemesis are the best going by the auditions, I think.

Not overrated at all IMO but I think every singer except for Faryl is overrated.

I'd probably agree with the singers. Although, I'd say Faryl was the most over-rated of them all. None of them will ever compare with Paul Potts last year IMO.

I hope it's Escala and Nemesis, I really don't think singing has a place on Britain's Got Talent - operatic stuff, definitely, because it's a unique talent and it shouldn't be on the X Factor, but the number of people who've made it to the semi finals, that are just singers, is dumb IMO.

Tonight's semi-final is the best, there are too many good acts. Some of the acts from tonight should have been put into yesterdays semi-final.

I am supporting Escala and Anya but I am sure more singers will get through again.

I liked Craig-best so far imo. Although I did prefer his audition.

I hope Escala and Craig get through. I want Escala to win this semifinal and let the judge's choose between Craig and Anya.

As I thought before, Nemisis (I keep wanting to correct the spelling :laugh:) and Escala were the best tonight. They should go through. I thought Madonna Decena and Per Diem were below par, which made it an easier decision IMO.

Wow, for a moment there I thought Simon was going to go for Craig. Had Craig gotten through, I wouldn't have minded, I think he's very good at what he does and he's very talented, but I think Nemisis deserved it, they performed fantastically. And of course, I'm happy that Escala got through, that was well earned!

I'm really happy with the two that got through. As much as I liked Craig, I think Nemesis are more suited to the final. I put some thought into it and came up with Escala (truly well deserved) and Nemesis, and they're the ones who secured places in the final so I'm pleased about that!

ar i felt sly for per diem tonight,
you could tell they were nervous so the singing wasnt going to be the best and what do they expect? getting 2 buzz's you would want to run off crying.. your voice will obviously go worse,
and tbh it wasnt that bad i thought it was okay, but not the best so i think the right people got in the top 3

but i dont like dance acts like nemesis, they bore me
george is solo but makes it more interesting and he deserves to win it more than them all!

I was fairly disappointed with the overall standard tonight.On the basis of the auditons. I really expected this to be the best semi final so far but most of the acts were below par.

I'm very pleased with the two that got through, thought those were the two standout acts on the night.Escala were just magnificent and made a very wise choice on the music to perform.Nemesis came up with a very good routine but I was still left slightly wanting more.

I thought Craig was funny but not quiet as good as his audition.The best impression he did on the night was Enrique,the one's of Barry White and Shirley Bassey didn't quite sound right to me.

Per Diem were the biggest letdown for me.I thought their audition was really good but the nerves got to them on the big stage and they were out of tune pretty much throughout the song.I'd have liked them to have done an original song rather than another cover too.

I was a bit surprised at Diva Las Vegas.It just seemed to centre around the one woman singing with the others just dancing around in the background, until they came on for the main woman's change.She wasn't a strong enough singer to do it alone and it took away the appeal of the act.

Caburlesque had an over the top and very dramatic song and they just ended up coming across as a bit of damp squib against it.It needed to be far more spectacular,to me it just was a bit samey.

Anya Sparks shouldn't have even been in the top 40 in my view.She's just a very sub standard dancer.I bet if it had been a medium or small sized woman then nobody would have thought much of it,most likely just end up getting buzzed 3 times and told to go home.

Madonna came in with a lot of expectation and she just badly failed to deliver on the night.The good spots were few and far between and the rest was just all over the place.I know she's got a tough job supporting a family but the sob story just was shoved down the viewers throats and it became a bit too much.

Fantastic opinions, Dan. I'd have to agree fully (you're now my BGT alter-ego, by the way). I'd also add that I was surprised with the way Per Diem acted upon their performance, especially the taller guy. He came across a bit too moody. I know the nerves must have kicked in, but for me at least, it detracted from the whole 'likeability' aspect.

Per diem was definitley a let down, felt a bit sympathetic for them though, Escala were amazing like i expected them to be and nemesis, err they are okay but for me its def. b/w Escala (im so used to saying scala..haha) and George.... :D Faryl is amazing but even if she doesnt win BGT im absolutley positive that she will have one hell of a singing career

I totally agree with regards to Per Diem.It was kind of a childish reaction to being buzzed.I know nerves played a part but it certainly didn't do them any favours.

Kate & Gin all the way for me, supported them since auditions. No way am I going to just ditch them like that. I'll stand by them 100%.
