I just finished watching DH season 4 and have realised I don't really watch any TV series that are longish running. There's a load of popular ones... and I can watch them on sidereel.com

So which should I start on? Opinions and reasons too please.

Erm, to give you an idea of what programmes I like... Desperate Housewives, Dexter, err... murdery type things like Taggart and Cracker.

Thanks people of TiBB-World!

House is my last new thing at the moment, I'm just addicted to it. It's so freakin' hilarious. You should watch it.

Yeah, I've been hearing VERY good things about House on other forums too.
Hmm!! I might

Prison Break is really good. Its got so many twists and turns and you never know what is going to happen next. All 3 season have been brilliant.

At the moment... I'd say it's a tie between Heroes and Desperate housewives...since desperate housewives isn't on till september and isn't on the poll i'll say Heroes.

Prison break and heroes for me probably more heroes at the moment than PB as its currently showing but both are great

Heroes is the only one I've actually seen, so i'll go with that. I love it too.

The only problem with House is that it is basically the same thing each week. I have all the dvds and am a fan of the show but after a few you need a break.

I would have voted weeds if I had seen the option just cause it is a very underated show.

I looooove Heroes!!! It's amazing. =D

Btw, what's House? I haven't even heard of that one...

Why isn't DH up there ? I watch that online anyway. Gossip Girl is the best out of that list.

It's a medical drama about a mean doctor called House. Each week him and his team try and cure a seemingly Incurable illness.

Gossip Girl is my favourite on that list, but it definitely isn't your type of show LOL.

Cos my first post states DH is the very reason I posted it  I just finished watching it all.

I've heard that house is very medical-based and not many twists... so I'm discounting that one for the moment (might watch it some time though - after exams I have a LOT of time on my hands).

Discounting Gossip Girl too, since Mark knows my 'type' and he says thats not it LOL.

I'm considering Prison Break... it definitely looks my type and...Wentworth Miller - YUM!

I only know about the top four but I'd recommend all four of them. House is a very politically incorrect wierd and funny show that's built around an amazing performance from Hugh Laurie. Who'd have thought when he was playing buffoons in Black adder that he would turn out to be such a good actor. However, every episode of House follows more or less the same format so you may get bored with it.

Heroes is, of the four, the show with the most potential. The characters and scenarios are great but to watch it requires huge suspension of disbelief. It's very out there.

Prison Break is an adrenaline fueled pumped up show. The action never really dips. Its very entertaining but sometimes a little difficult to follow exactly who is double crossing whom.

GA is light entertainment. Its a but soppy and whimsical but is probably the easiest to watch of the four. Its a show aimed at teenagers but adults can enjoy it just as much.

The choice is yours.

I think I am going to go with prison break. GiRTH sold it to me with the fast-paced-ness.

Have you ever seen Scrubs, Lauren? I didn't think it would be my kind of thing until I sat down and watched a few episodes, it's actually very good. I've never seen Weeds; I've seen some of the others, and I watch Heroes, so obviously I'd recommend Heroes over the rest. I personally don't like House, because I think it's very samey (every single episode has a disease that nobody in the world has ever solved before, but along comes House, yay, and there's a few other non-medical related storylines thrown in for good measure) whereas with shows such as Heroes, the cast is bigger, so it doesn't get stale as quickly. With Heroes you've got to be able to accept the unreal things and the downright silly things, haha.

It's really amazing if you can get into. Some people think it is a tad absurd :elephant:

Yeah, I'm a fan of scrubs but I think thats as far as my medical-humour will take me - House sounds too medial from what I have heard.

Greys is another contender. Laura watches it, which means it must have soppy romantic storylines which would make a nice change from the gritty Prison Break.... oooh, decisions!!

Lmao Grey's is well soppy.

Gossip Girl definately. It's really good. The second best TV show ever. #1 is The OC.

Grey's Anatomy seemed good, I saw the pilot episode and then missed the next few and lost track of it haha. Of course, LOST is on a whole different level of cool:love: hahaha

You know me too well  It does have soppy romantic storylines,I love them! Although I really enjoy the medical aspect of it as well. It's really interesting.

Against all my better judgements (and seemingly most other peoples better judgements) I started watching Gossip Girl!!

(Mainly cos SurfTheChannel were not showing Prison Break on MegaVideo, but they were for GG!).

I actually really like it :puzzled:
I know, I know! It's really not me. But I'm already finding myself shouting at the (laptop) screen when things happen!
Currently on episode 3, so when I get 'more' into it, I shall let you know how I find it then.

Edit: Actually, GG has 5 votes so I'm not totally going against judgements

Any one of those would have been a good choice.

Prison Break would have been the obvious choice. It may be a little absurd but no more so than Heroes or Lost. The characters are caricatures but it's non stop entertainment.

I can see why people dont like House. Personally, I think House is the cleverest of all the shows. The character of Gregory House is the best character in all of these series. Think of him like a cross between Sherlock Holmes and Fitz from Cracker. He's brilliant diagnostician but deeply flawed to the point of self-destruction. It's all done to what we feel is important. Do we want shows to be character criven or plot driven?

Watched Ugly Betty for a bit, and LOST for just the first series  I have a tendency to give up on programmes easy.

Also, I love GG so far - on the 5th episode and it's awesome.
