BIG BROTHER HOUSEMATES LOSE £6000 IN SECOND SATURDAY NIGHT CHALLENGE

Tonight, during the LIVE 9pm Channel 4 show, the remaining eleven Big Brother housemates were given their second ‘Saturday Night Challenge’ in the form of a fairground game…with some evil twists. This time the housemates had more to play for as the result of the challenge affected their prize fund. In addition, an earlier ‘kiddies party’ filled with a large variety of sweet treats took place with the aim of affecting their performance during the challenge. In total the housemate (Stuart) answered four questions wrong in a specially devised quiz and one housemate (Ahmed) did not stick to the rules of the game, so they lost £6000 from their total prize fund. Their total prize money now stands at £85,000.

Their challenge was for one housemate to answer a series of questions whilst the remaining housemates were spinning on a roundabout. Whenever that housemate answered any question incorrectly, the prize money dropped by between £1,000 and £2,000. Each time a question was answered correctly, one housemate was able to leave the roundabout. If any housemate left the roundabout outside of these times, the money would drop by £1000. At the beginning of the challenge, the prize money stood at £91,000 (after the money dropped from £100,000 following Kitten’s refusal to leave the house last night) and the housemates now have £85,000 to play with in the future. Each Saturday night, the housemates will continue to play to keep their prize money

The first part of the challenge took place this afternoon when the housemates were treated to a range of sickly summer treats, including ice cream, chocolates, pick and mix and lots of fizzy pop. Tonight Big Brother provided a fairground roundabout for the second part of the challenge. Housemates were asked to rate themselves from 1-11 in order of intelligence and then strength. The housemates nominated Stuart to answer the eight questions in the Diary Room as he was chosen to be the most intelligent housemate. Each question was worth £1000 and the final question was worth £2,000. Jason was chosen as the strongest housemate and was nominated to push the roundabout at a 15rpm speed.

Stuart answered five questions correctly and chose Victor, Dan, Ahmed, Marco and Nadia to step off the roundabout. The housemates found the challenge particularly difficult after their earlier kiddies party and all complained that they were feeling nauseous. At one point Marco vomited in the garden. Big Brother informed them that although Stuart managed to answer five questions correctly, as Ahmed was not on the roundabout at the beginning of the challenge, another £1000 would be deducted from the prize fund.
