Invigilators in exams......

Hey, i just done my exam and noticed somthing that invigilators do

What is it that they write down while your doing the exam?

dont no whether it happens where you are but they kinda what you and if they notice anything they jot it down. as if the watching or abserving you.

why do they for this.

We are always told they might come to watch an exam and we need to bring Photographic ID because they will check... not that they ever come to ours
i think they just make notes on how the exam was carried out to make sure the school/college is abiding the rules

They're just checking everyone has turned up to the exam. They always check ours so we always need ID.

i remember when i did mine they just wrote down your name and the candidate number but thats nearly 5 years ago so it might have changed

My English teacher used to be an invigilator and he told me that its common for the invigilators, depending how old they are etc, play a game where they spot 'The most likely to have a teenage pregnancy' 'Ugliest', 'Prettiest' etc

i just did my Exams !! The thing is my Grandads sister (my great antie) is an invigilator. she is known as 'the old bag' i dont ever talk to her though, but once my friend was sitting next to me and she knew it was me and she said 'thanks craig' when i handed my paper over, my friend was like 'wha? do you know her ?' and i just said ' err, no she must of read it off my paper' Pmsl :laugh:

After nearly 5 minutes she walked away.

Invigilators at my school play eye spy.. lol... whenever they walk past eachother you can always hear them say something like "rubber?" or "ruler" etc...

Theres one in my school is really nice lol.. I always talk to him before the exam. :dance2:

Well usually they walk around writing the register to send off and they also have to record the timings, etc. We had one for English lit that looked like a Philippino drug baron...

They just walk up and down the aisles.

I hate it when you look up and you catch the eye of one of the invigilators. You can't look down suddenly otherwise you'll look suspicious so you just have to like look to the side and look as if you're thinking lol!

Mines are all over 70 and usuallly fall asleep :sleep:

But this one time, i was sitting and my mind wenty blank, so i started looking about me and noticed a huge spider crawling on the floor toward my bag! I got such a fright i jumped back and pushed my desk to the side, all the other people in the exam got a fright n looked round and the invigilator didnt even look up. Poor old man, i thought he was dead!

the invigilators in my exam 2 hours ago were annoying, kept standing over seeing what i was writing, and one was head of maths so i presume he could tell if i was doing well or not haha

then when i was trying to leave early, im carrying 5 pens, water, bag, calculator etc etc, he just stood next to the door not helping - i thought his job was to make sure things were quiet not BANG as i hit the door! haha

Our one today was walking around and he was looking at my calculator(whilst I was banging rather manically on it) so I presume he was just checking they weren't super-calculators or something.
