Not completely terrible. Its down 800,000 from last year. I hope it rises. It got 5.4 million.

KKBL

id say the official will be higher though

Anybody who thought it would get over 6 million was just fooling themselves. 5 dna a half million should be considered a modern miracle after the rubbish end to BB8 and complete alienation og two thirds of the BB audience with the fiasco that was Celebrity Hijack.

Spike

It deserved better, hopefully it will gain some viewers tonight from people talking about how good it was.
I think if its a good series the ratings will be better
Thats what you get when the show is poorly advertised

KKBL
06-06-2008, 09:11 AM
i still think 4 out of those 5 million will wath the HL's

*mazedsalv**
06-06-2008, 09:12 AM
My prediction for tonight is 3.8 million.

Spike
06-06-2008, 09:12 AM
It got a share of 25% which is very good
This is a make or break series lets hope the highlight shows do well

Bad for BB, good for C4.

There just wasn't enough convincing advertising in enough places. People just think this year will be like last year.

The media are behind the show this year instead of giving up like last year, hopefully it will help figures pick up.

This weekends figures will be poor anyway because it is the weekend and most people will be out. I think they should have launched on a Monday to get it off to a safe and steady start.

After BB8 and Hijack, the interest in the show is a little less than usual, but it's not bad, I predicted it would be about this. I think as the show carries on, the viewing figures will generally be good, as it needs to build up interest again.

The hare only went down by 1% from last year. Thursday nights are the new Friday, 18-30 year olds go out on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Ive read 2 papers today so far while being on the busses and its all looking good in the media, although the MEN and the Metro are calling it a freak show haha.
I have a feeling it will improve over the series, lots of people have been talking about it. But some people are saying its rubbish, some saying its great. Not alot of people like the blind guy, but ive already heard from someone that they want him to win... TUT.

And yeh, Thursdays is student night in most places, so not many students would of been in watching it.

It still won it's time slot. The ratings were bound to be down after the terrible CBB5 and BB8. But 5.4 million is still good and it peaked at 5.9 between 10-10:30pm

Hopefully as it got off to a good start, the ratings increase of the series. Tonights and Saturdays ratings won't be good simply because shows never perform great on these days, but Sunday and after hopefully we'll the ratings increase. All the main tabloids have BB on the front page today.

I think I read that the last 15 minutes peaked at 6 million.

It's great ratings for C4. They ussually only get 1-2 million viewers on evenings.

It beat all the other channels, i dont see the massive problem. Also yesterday, in most parts of the UK it was student night(My sister was out too and watched BB this morning). Most 18-24 year olds are out. A peak of 6 million is great.

I was actually quite shocked to see the viewing figures. I expected ATLEAST 6m.

Maybe alot of the younger audiences are busy with their exams.

I dunno, i just hope it improves.

I think they are good viewing figures i was expecting that after the previous series and people need to warm to it and get interested from word and mouth so these housemates need to show them self’s to their best and i hate to say it but maybe a new couple need to form because does extract viewers and extra publicity! as you said it will most probably increase later on in the seres and i think the big wedding this sunday will extract quite a few with the sunday night project straight after!

Also don’t forget it peaked to 5.9 so in my opinion that is pritty good and i think it was too long for many viewers and people didn’t want to watch it all! also many people watched heros first and then reverted over!

Overall i think this is a great start to what looks to be a great series is and has achieved better than in viewing figures than i expected so sounds promising i think people before hand were a bit niyeve (sorry i acnt spell) about the estimate of viewing figures the program would achieve considering the disastrous previous series!!!!!

I'm pleasently suprised with the viewing figures to be honest. After the trainwreck that was BB8 the figures are relatively impressive.

Even if ratinsg wise it does worse, we could always say that we enjoyed it and it was better than BB8. It looks like a promising series.

Like Ive said before, ratings shouldnt matter. WE as audience shouldnt even pay attention to them.

Theyre for production teams only. I am going to ejoy the series just like I enjoyed BB8 and Hijack no matter what the ratings are.

They were a little bit lower than I expected but it's still pretty decent.

thats good coz DEVINA did a run through of all the HM's and revealed the twist so the .6million who didnt watch might watch tonight.also dont forget everyones talking about how good it was wich might result in the repeats on E4 & C4 getting high viewers

I expected this amount amount of viewers considering how unpopular the show was last year its a good figure to launch the series off.

Spike

Good news that it peaked at 6million. I think it will be like BB5 and its ratings will increase over the series.

Spike
06-06-2008, 12:49 PM
It was the most watched program apart from the soaps last night and won its slot.
The ratings are down but BB is still up there.

IBB now reporting that the peak was not 5.9 million, it was 6.1 million.

BB3 started off with similar ratings and ended on 10 million, lets hope the same happens for BB9

I remember someone on TV saying last year that the ratings are going down, yet Big Brother is still one of the top shows on not only Channel 4, but Terrestrial TV al together.

Thats what I said. They matter for production teams. Not for us. Not this series anyway.

Why can we not just sit and watch a good series of BB without worrying so much about who else is watching it

Wow, how fantastic would that be? *fingers crossed*

I still think it's pretty popular, though, so I'm not gonna worry about the ratings too much - I walked into school today, and Big Brother was all everybody was talking about.
