Genetically he's black, but technically he isn't because he's albino, a.k.a. no melanin, a.k.a. no skin pigment...melanin is basically what determines your skin color. But the way he said he was the "only white guy at the family reunion" infers that his parents and extended family are black.

It's a really interesting conundrum...makes you ask "Does your blackness make you black or not?"

Exactly what I'm thinking. I mean no one's actually black, but people are still referred to as black if they're from a certain descent.

It's a really interesting conundrum...makes you ask "Does your blackness make you black or not?" Good explanation. His skin has no pigmentation so technically he's white or some cultures he would be considered to be yellow or red - I'm not joking. His family are black thus his background is black.

He's OK. I think he went a bit over the top with the sob story. In the Caribbean albino people are not as rare as he made out. I have two albino cousins who we refer to as our 'red' family. LOL

He's my current favorite...I think he has a lot to offer, and I love that he hasn't watched Big Brother. Him coming out of the van and running in the completely wrong way was priceless.

I think he is black, but has the gene. He made some comment about him being the only white guy at his family reunions.

I was just looking it up, and apparently people who are albino, sunburn very easily, and have to watch overexposure. I'm sure he knows this. I don't know if we'll see him out in the sun much without a lot of protection.

He's BLACK, in this context i refer to his culture which is BLACK...

many BLACK people have pigment issues where parts of their bodies loosed colour and turn pink... they are still BLACK. (not piebalds or skewbalds)
