SCOTS housemate Shell Jubin beat a cancer scare as a child, it was revealed yesterday.
Shell was just eight years old when she underwent surgery on a malignant tumour on her leg.
Speaking in the new issue of Closer magazine, her mum, Ellie, who lives in Selkirk in the Borders, said: 'Michelle has coped brilliantly with everything life has thrown at her.
'We were all terrified when the lump appeared on her leg. As soon as she came round from the operation to remove it, she was eating pizza and saying she felt fine.
'She was old enough to realise cancer could kill but if she was afraid she didn't show it.That's typical of her.'
A year later, Shell's parents split up and she cared for her mum who had nearly died after an aneurysm.
Yesterday, Shell told housemates she would never do a raunchy photo shoot for a men's magazine because she doesn't think she's sexy enough.
She said: 'People sometimes get asked to do anFHM shoot. But it's not gonna happen no boobs here!'
Shell, 21, who is studying art in Glasgow, added: 'The thing I don't want out of this is celebrity or any kind of fame.
'I don't think it will happen, because I can't imagine anyone would be very interested in me for more than a week.
'I find that kind of celebrity really distasteful anyway. I'd rather just fade elegantly from the limelight.'
