View Full Version : I complained to Channel 4 about the 'Couples Task'
Glenn.

I complained to Channel 4 over how they helped the housemates guess Mario and Lisa were the Secret Couple here is my reply:
Dear Mr Dines,
Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries regarding BIG BROTHER. We are sorry to hear that you feel BIG BROTHER gave the task away; the Housemates discovered that Lisa and Mario were the real couple, therefore Lisa, Mario, Luke and Stephanie are up for eviction this week, it was clearly stated by BIG BROTHER that they had to fool everyone in the house into thinking Stephanie and Mario were the couple in order to pass the mission and be exempt from eviction. Nevertheless, please be assured your complaint has been noted and logged. The log is distributed throughout Channel 4 and seen by the programmemakers. Thank you again for taking the time to contact us. We appreciate all feedback from our viewers; complimentary or otherwise.
Regards,
Sally Smith

Its completely unfair that the foursome have been put up foreviction! BB helped the housemates guess correctly that there was a secret couple in the house! BB should never have told the housemates there was a 'Secret Couple'. Its completley ridiculous!

There is nothing to complain about.
The task the was to hide out Mario and Lisa wasn't a secret couple
Big Brother was always going to task the housemates to guess the couple, it was never going to be that easy
As a cover story Steph and Mario were together
If the cover story was acted better then nobody would suspect Mario therefore they would have passed their task.

I totally agree. It wouldn't have been fair on the other housemates if they weren't given the opportunity to officially declare who the real couple is.

I just think it could of been played differently thats all. Telling the housemates there was a secret couple in the house was pointless. They would have clicked even if Steph and Mario were convinced them.

Well they wouldn't of known if they were convinced about Steph and Mario
It was only fair they told the other housemates to guess otherwise it would be too easy on the 4 doing the task.

I agree with you. Big Brother didn't even clarify the rules of the task properly, they changed halfway through as always. They always do that to get the results they want, it's annoying.

But if BB hadnt sprung a spanner in the works i.e Revealing there was a secret couple in the house, they would of passed. I think there was no need to let the housemates decide They were convinced Steph and Mario were a couple, they only doubted the wedding, to me, they passed the mission. The foursome should have been called to the Diary Room and everything should of been revealed via the TV screen in the Living Room.

I think Big Brother did not help them
if it was not for Alex and her mouth
the outcome could have changed.
Glenn.

Why is it only me that can see this?
BB should have called the foursome to the DR not announce to the entire house that a secret couple was amongst them. The secret mission was to keep it quiet that Lisa and Mario was a couple. KNOWONE suspected Lisa and Mario. So to me they passed there secret mission.

and made the blind bloke say it

But believing that they were a couple wasn't the task, it was to prevent other housemates finding out Mario and Lisa were a couple. The cover story wasn't acted out well enough thanks to Steph (that why I want her out on Friday) if it was done well enough then housemates would never have guessed. If BB didn't tell housemates to guess a secret couple that would be really unfair and a fix really. So I don't see any reason to complain about it.
Glenn.

Thats fair enough. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. My opinion is that is was a set up

Complaining is a big waste of time.
Also, it was probably a scam to keep Alex in for longer.
That letter they send was the same they send all the others word for word.
apart from your name of course

So true. There's nothing to be proud about just sitting back and taking whatever crap you're fed.
I agree, they should've passed. BB telling the housemates that there was a secret couple in the house was unfair.

I think it's a bit unfair to hold someone's join date against them - they're perfectly entitled to opinions and shouldn't feel inferior simply because they joined later. It's not very welcoming. I think their post could have been phrased better though!
I do agree with you - mentioning that there was a 'secret couple' immediately gave away everything, and just put the foursome's hard work to waste. But there needed to be a balance... the other housemates also needed an equal and fair opportunity to do their bit, and unfortunately they were logical and guessed correctly.

To be honest the whole thing seems fake. It doesn't sound professional enough I think you made the whole thing up.
I complained to tibb about the unnecessarity of this post. Look!
Dear Mr Nikkos,
Thank you for contacting us about your complaint of the 'Mr Dines' in question. We agree that his attempt to make other forum members believe he recieved a reply from Channel 4 staff who have nothing better to do than read petty complaints was unnecessary and a little strange; kind of like that old woman who attacked a man who played a murderer in a soap opera with a bag of carrots.tibb takes such issues very seriously and we will take this matter with a serious nature. Thank you for your patronage and we will contact you immediately with the action take against Mr Dines.

I think if the 'complaint' had been worded better, the reply would've been of been more dignified.

The fact that Rachel was next in after the four people involved in the task, means she alone would have known it would have to have been either Luke and Steph or Mario and Lisa who were the secret couple as she was not called into the diary room to be a part of the task. This is what the poster meant by Big Brother giving the task away, as it was easy to work out by a process of elimination rather than just guess work.
