Let's make this official. Davina is now announcing eviction results from inside the studio as other posts suggest, but what do you think?

Its great.
Housemates shouldn't hear the boos, cheers and chants. Whats the point in being cut off from the outside world if they can hear the public opinion?

Absolute travesty.

The boos and cheers added a great element.

The crowds are nothing more than a rent a mob. Booing yobs with the intellect of a squashed ant beneath a foot of snow with a cherry on top.......

I'm happy. It brings Big Brother back to the basics and keeps the housemates guessing as to whether or not they are popular.

the boos, cheers and chants do make the show much more exciting but TBH it would be much better without them.

It will make Alex even more deluded than she is if she can't hear them booing her! Fantastic!

I liked it when they booed the housemates it adds to the excitement.

Brilliant news, the whole point of BB is that the housemates are cut off from the outside world. In recent years this rule has been made a joke of. The housemates shouldn't be aware of how they are been perceived, it makes it better when they are eventually evicted and booed or cheered because they will have no expectations.

So yes I'm glad the eviction result will be read inside the studio.

She is not announcing evictions in the studio! what rubbish lol. That is the main attraction of watching evictions IMO

Thanks for the metaphor omelette but denying me the eventual pleasure of seeing Alex's crack***** face when she is booed is a dissapointing twist.

The reactions to the crowd were always entertaining.

Not sure yet I am going to see how it works before I judge.

I am not too sure.
i would love for Alex to realise she is hated by the public, but i think it may be b etter inside.

Okay so she is presenting it in front of the live crowd but is making the announcement in the studio, right?

Good idea. The fact they won't have a clue how their being perceived on the outside until when they come out makes it much better viewing.

Glad to see you Back Nikkos!
Will we be doing the BBO?

And I think its a great idea!

I dunno.. Good and bad.

Good because housemates will have NO contact with the outside at all! But this could be bad also.. We have to wait and see!

I've changed my mind. That wasn't too bad.

As long as they do this for EVERY eviction, because I've a feeling it was done so they don't vote to evict alex. that way they keep the headlines.....

how would it keep alex in? she wouldn't be able to hear the chants but in bb7 and bb8 the house heard get ____ chants and grace lasted until susie arrived and charley lasted quite a long time, albeit with a bit of fixing for the third eviction.

i wanted alex to hear everyone chanting to get her out! give her a taste of her own medicine then maybe we could see a different side to her

Spike

I think it was better in the studio, much better atmosphere and more suspense.

It's for the best. I think there could have been a chance that Alex would have changed her whole persona if she had heard to "Get Alex out!" cheers.

I'm not saying it will keep her in, just that they should make sure its consistant with every one.
Also as in the past, u mention grace going - only susie made that decision and she's been on the outside, who is to say they wud have even nominated her, she had loads of allies at the time....

its alrite it been quiet but wouldnt of been good tonite to hear "get alex out" would of been great

The selfish part of me is pissed because I wanted Alex to hear those chants, but objectively its a good move. No contact with the outside means no contact with the outside.

Great idea.
If the housemates hear boos and cheers they get paranoid and start to re-think nominations and game plans.:puzzled:

So what do you do? Clap and cheer someone you dislike? That seems pretty stupid if you ask me.

i think it is much better. Although.. I would play music into the house. That suspense music that goes on while the housemate is leaving- just to make it less silent.

Great move. Now in true BB fashion... the housemates have ZERO contact with the outside world! Everything about BB9 is shaping up to be a fab series!

Although the crowd added to the atmosphere of the show, now the housemates won't know who's popular and who isn't meaning they will be a lot more genuine in their behaviour during the show.

dylissimo
13-06-2008, 10:42 PM
As much as I'd have loved them to hear "Get Alex Out", I think it's better in the long run because they won't be able to work out who's popular and who's not... and the unpopular ones like Alex will be in for a bigger shock when they come out.

And also if they had the crowd then Mario and Lisa would have heard boos too and known they're kinda disliked but now they think the public has saved them and they're liked!

I thought all in all it was a pretty good idea. It really cut out any idea of how the public feels about HMs.
