What is this bullsh*t, why the hell can't they just leave it alone, and let the crowd do what they are there to do...
this type of thing is really starting to bring BB down, it's not needed.
It all smells a bit iffy, it is starting to look more and more like a last stitched attempt at keeping Alex in...
NOT ON!
would they have done the same for another housemate?
you decide...(well you don't really decide, you just give your opinions)

At keeping Alex in? It's so she won't be fake and alter her personality. It's also so her followers won't try to change either.

That was the best decision they have made all series. Whenever chants are being heard, housemates start not being themselves and try to please the public. Thats what happened last year, after they hear charley chants, Gerry Ziggy and Liam kept having a go at her or no reason, and they started acting. Great decidion"!

Yep. I agree that it's a great choice to not let the housemates hear the public's chants.

I thought at first 'what' especially when I saw Davina walking back into the studio and I was annoyed as I was actually waiting to enjoy the 'get alex out' chants but now its happened I want to wait and see if she still is the annoying person she actually is and if she is on top form this week and the housemates vote for her then it will be great next week as I am sure that when Davina talks to the house next week they can chant away.

they are not gonna allow chants for any eviction, if they havent done it for the first. And like I said B4, thats their best decision,at least the housemstes get to make up their own minds!
She will find out soon enough what the public think of her, when she is evicted.I don't see the big deal at hearing what the crowd are shouting at the eviction of another housemate. There's going to be no suspense or surprise when Alex eventually does get evicted.
She will know full well what the public think of her and so will her other housemates, it takes something away from the game. They aren't meant to have any contact with the outside world, by letting them hear what the public think of them, it's stopping that and could lead to people being fake.

Oh my god yeah that has got to be it! Either that or to get their money's worth out of that rather expensive-looking studio...

As long as people don't change their opinion of Alex before she is evicted, I don't mind.

it's for the best, and its not just to protect alex but to protect everyone. When they hear big cheers they gravitate towards those people and when they hear boos it affects the way people act.
There should be NO contact with the outside and that includes the 10 seconds they get with Davina. It will ultimately help because the housemates will not be influenced by anything, and be making their own decisions.

Think of it this way: Alex will never know what the public thinks of her, thus, she won't be changing her behavior. Brilliant!

I have to agree with Letmein and co.
It isn't an attempt to keep her in, tbh, i don't really see how you thing that makes sense. Anyhoo...
They are doing this, like people have suggested before, so that the housemates are not affected by what the pulbic believes and stop people from changing their attitudes (ie alex, if anything, they are trying to keep her controversial) No contact means no contact and that wasn't happening after BB4...until now.
I hope BB keep with this decision as it is the best one in a long while, and I believe it is a good factor to help BB get back on track.
BTW, L-u-u-u-ving the new set. Snazzy! lol

That's a great choice not to let the housemates hearing the chants. We go back to the oldest BB rule 'Not contact with the outside world'.

How the hell are people not understanding, this is for the best! This is going to keep things entertaining! When HMs hear the crowd they become boring suck ups.

It is so housemates don't know how they are being perceived outside the house... i like it because eventually we will see the benefits... normally we see them wondering what they have done wrong after being booed and then changing... this way eventually we will see them questioning what each person who is evicted has done wrong and start to wonder what is thought of them and have no indication either way so no one will change or become cocky

It's a very good decision. The crowd annoy the crap out of me.
I think they'd had this planned from day one.It does not influence the housemates then ,therefore having a fairer outcome on who's put up for nomination and then evicted.

I dont understnd why the producer cant quite the crown anyway. They seem to be able to control the crowd for secret evictions so why cant they stop them from chanting.
I think the ploy to keep Alex ins has started. I dread to think how she would have reacted if she'd heard the crowd chanting "get Alex out". I think she would have got worse just as she seems to be getting beter.

How is not letting Alex hear the chants keeping her in!
It keeps HMs from being influenced because the point of BB is no contact with the outside world.
She can still be nominated and voted out!
If she heard the chants she might have tried to suck up then

I think it is much better. As said before, people have changed the way they act after hearing the crowds reactions in different series.
This is the way it should be.
If they are hated, they don't change their actions because they heard the crowd shout on a Friday night. They carry on being as they have decided to be and then realise that they have been perceived by the public as a (insert your own word), as well as the house mates that nominated them.
They are supposed to be in a bubble - it is no fun if it bursts for 2 periods on a Friday night!!

I was disappointed that the Housemates couldn't hear the crowd.
It used to add to the whole atmosphere of the Eviction.
It also meant that when the 4 names were announced by Davina, each name was greeted by silence.
The biggest boos that we heard were for Mario, and it would have been confusing for them (as it was for us) when Mario wasn't evicted.
They appeared to hear the crowd when Steph opened the door.
I thought she got a very good reception, but they were upset and thought she got lots of boos.
That nasty idiot Dennis claimed to hear "Go Mario and Lisa" and reckoned that was a shout of support, but I am sure he made that up for his own evil purposes.
