Darnell racist?

Why is it ok for Darnell to call white people coloured and slag them off when it is completely inappropriate for anyone to be racist. He had a conversation in the bathroom about how he is black and he said something then about 'white s**t!!!

he said something like you have colour, so you are coloured to me, I have no colour as I'm albino (which is just stating the facts, Albino people do not have any pigment in their skin, White Black Asian etc all have pigment.

if you re-watch that comment you will understand that he was no being racist, he was having a conversation, and jokingly said something like "you to me are a coloured person" I think it was to Dale

I'm white, and I don't get any racist argument about what he said...he is a Black man, from a Black family, but he is Albino, Albino's can be any race, he was merely speaking about his non-coloured pigment...

He was referring to how black people were once considered "coloured" people, and he was saying to him white people, as well as black and asian people etc. were "coloured" as he has no pigment in his skin. He was NOT being racist. The only time he mentioned the word "****" was when he said something like, "I'd always say look at you running around all coloured and ****."
The guy was making fun of himself and the world we live in. He was not by any means being racist. I hate this pc world, everybody is just dying to jump on any last word people say.

No you are actually right, he is a black albino.
His ethnicity is black his congenital condition has no and is not an ethnic group.

His comment although woefully short of being perfect Polital (social) Correctness was not racist.
I am often called coloured as opposed to the proper PC term black, by many people often of an older generation.
I could be equally un PC and refer to those same people also as coloured, indeed whites often go red, brown, yellow, and purple just depending on the weather :joker:
I don't as I'm aware its not best PC, and whoever heard of a black calling a white coloured, I'd be called racist immediatley by equally mis informed people.

My daughter(mixed race) also struggles with how to answer questions like "who do you think treats you better whites or coloureds) is everyone who asks that racist?

If this comment would like you say, been said by luke to sylvia I do agree with you it would have got more of a reaction to the lack of PC the comment had.
However I disagree it would have reached newspapers as the term coloured is not considered racsist, as many black people will tell you, if it were the papers would be running this 'race hate story' on a daily basis.
It's a term made to black people frequently even today mainly from people who have merely not gotten used to the change in PC rather than being hard core bigots.

Seems to me he says he is black due to his heritage and culture. He was born into a black family.

This has nothing to do with his skin colour.

As he is albino, he has no skin pigmentation. Therefore he is not white, and he is not coloured either.

Calling someone coloured in itself (which Darnell did) is NOT racist at worst it is non PC. It will make a few young people flinch but this was the 'accepted' term for black(mainly)/white people 30+ years ago, now times have changed and so has the PC we now use black or white.
A bit like calling someone handicapped rather than disabled/physically challenged.
