Do you think Rex overreacted in the DR to the threatening comments Alex made?

I don't think he did,I liked Alex before this incident but what she said was horrific. If it was me I wouldn't have been as calm as Rex was.

Not at all. Firstly, it was BB that probed him about the situation anyway – it’s not as if he went in there and said, “I feel really threatened.” Secondly, I think whatever he would have said, both BB and the viewing audience would have considered her behaviour to be inappropriate, especially considering that Alex had already been warned about it previously. Also, if anything, I think the fact that Rex kept quiet was really quite noble – somebody else might have felt extremely offended. I’m a little disappointed in Dale & Darnell, actually, for not saying anything themselves.
I understand that the ‘pow pow’ comment or whatever it was could have been taken lightly, but as soon as innocent friends and family are brought into the equation, that stance is out the window. Especially because it’s not as if anyone in the house has done anything worth being threatened about – Alex was being far too hypocritical and overreacted for the sake of it. She was the one with the problem. She’s so disliked anyway though that I actually wanted to see the audience’s reaction to her. I wonder if her gangster friends can take on the whole of the viewing public.

There's no question in my mind he overreacted. He could have at least asked Alex what she meant. I also didn't like the way he was in the diary room sowing seeds in Big Brother and the audiences minds. I'm sure the audience were influenced by his words. I know I was.

To be honest, I thought he did overreact in that I expected him to say something himself to Alex. Maybe he just didn't want to make an argument for the sake of it (something Alex tends to do), so went to the DR. And I agree completely with your comments - the DR probed him, and not only that, it takes a bigger man to keep quiet. I also agree with your later points.
