I wanted a new female in the house but I didn't care what hair colour she had. So the answer is No.
Lauren
20-06-2008, 10:40 PM
Why blonde? That doesn't affect their personality so no.
Legend
20-06-2008, 10:40 PM
I voted no purely because a housemates hair color is irrelevant to me.
I'm happy with the number of housemates right now, I'd say 1/2 more throughout the series and we're good, but no going crazy with the newbies!

Too many men? Seems like a balance to me. You're just complaining for the sake of it, and all you want is a fit housemate rather than an entertaining one.
So shallow.

No
I dont care what hair colour they have lol.
No.What difference does someone's hair colour have in terms of them being a good housemate?

Yes, but by dictating a preference in hair colour suggests personality is secondary.

so why cant say blonde? Its the same as saying sexy man or woman! Tall or thin etc. Its the others have jumped to it and twisted the blonde word. Like i said if i said green hair would there be so many anti-hair colour posts? So its wrong to say blonde? If its whats inside then why get so angry with the word blonde? Many people like blondes, many like red heads, many like tall men, fit men etc etc. They wrong?
Would you want a blonde haired female with a face like a bag of spanners?
Matt10k
20-06-2008, 11:04 PM
I don't get the fuss over saying blonde either?
If someone said "a gorgeous girl" nobody would jump on them saying all you were bothered about is looks.
By saying blonde, you are just specifying what you personally find attractive.
What's the problem with that?
Ashleee:)

Ok, andy was jsu saying that he would like to see a blode in the house, that doesnt mean he has anything against brunettes or redheads or bald people. Some girls have been saying they want to see a good looking man, why arent people saying;'whats wrong woth ugly people??'

yeah i was thinking the same thing, i mean two girls have been evicted i.e steph & alex, it would have made more sense if a girl joined the house, a blonde as steph has left & they're only brunettes in the house, i've got nothing against brown haired girl but it would have been better if it was a female

Pointing out that you find certain physical things attractive about another person does not make you shallow. Everyone finds certain things attractive.
I didn't see andyman saying personality was secondary to him anywhere in this thread so why the prejudgments?

Obviously (as this whole topic points out :spin2:) hair colour really isn't that important.
How ever I do prefer Blonde's myself. Not the bleach blonde, mega false looking, bimbo thing, just the regular ones. I think it's just because they seem to stand out more and are brighter and therefore seem happier/funner looking? (In a subconscious kind of way.)
All hair colours can look great though! (Not so much the bright, bright orange gingers though. )
I quite like the red hair that is literally nearly red. Like Willow in Buffy, she looks great.
Not so much liking the properly false red think, like that gladiator, I think that looks pretty silly.
But I do L:love:VE the charactor Lola in that (AMAZING!) film, Run Lola Run. She does look really good. (and funky, lol!) IMO anyway. :spin2:

The very fact you mentioned the word 'blonde' suggests it does matter, if it didn't - you wouldn't have mentioned it. Nice trying to twist my words, but it doesn't work.

Loads of people here say they want good looking housemates going into the house. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting people you are attracted to going in.
It doesn’t mean they don’t value personality or that it is secondary or that it makes any differance to how good a housemate they'll be (and I didn't say it did either)- they're just saying they'd like some eye candy!
What's wrong with that :conf:

You could have said green hair, purple hair, pink hair with blue spots for all I care. The point still stands that I don't see why hair colour should be a determining factor in picking a housemate. there we go again with spliting hairs, did i say what u are thinking? No but u only THINK i did. I will say blonde to make the PC nuts happy! Are you always PC?

The whole "PC" thing isn't funny. Blonde isn't an identity group, it's a hair colour. :bored:
You've admitted yourself you included it in order to provoke argument? Why would you purposefully provoke argument? At least Matt10k is arguing your point better than you are, I suppose - and so all future posts in this thread will refer to him, and him only - since he can actually debate fairly.
Ok, Matt10k - I see your point, and there are a lot of posts saying "I want someone goodlooking in the house" and "I want a hunk" but I don't like them either - and would bring up the same issue in those threads. Any physical aspect shouldn't determine a HM.

The very fact you mentioned the word 'blonde' suggests it does matter, if it didn't - you wouldn't have mentioned it. Nice trying to twist my words, but it doesn't work.
It's just like me saying... I want a one-legged pirate with a criminal past and herpes in the house, but... I don't care if they're not a one-legged pirate with a criminal past and herpes.
I'm up for one legged pirate with a criminal past and herpes
Has made me quite moist :blush2:

Ok Lauren, I can respect that, if you are consistent in your arguments.
Personally, hair colour isn’t important to me either, and I’d prefer entertaining housemates to good looking ones. I see the looks thing as a separate issue though. I’m not thinking of whether or not blonde hair makes any difference to how good a housemate they’ll be, I’m just giving an opinion on what I find attractive i.e. Am I more attracted to blondes so would I like to see one in the house?- after all, there are plenty of men who do prefer blondes, so I don’t think it is a stupid question as some are saying.
The ones who answer this thread just to childishly insult the poster and make no points whatsoever are the stupid ones in my opinion.

I don't even know what it is. If it's an argument it's one sided. I just said I found a post funny so he started being a nob about it looking for a kick off, don't know why.

I reiterate - any personal insults will result in a warning. Just walk away from it.
Edit: Some posts have been removed to clean the thread up with arguments.

Yes, people should stop trying to personally insult the questioner or laughing with the people who are trying to, even if they disagree with what he is saying.
There are ways of disagreeing without getting personally insulting.

You're also allowed to relax and have a laugh at any comments you find funny. You don't have to get uptight if people aren't focusing directly on the point you're making.

Nothing to do with focusing on my point or not.
It was because you laughed at a post that was an attempt to personally insult someone.

And your response was to call him childish, when this entire 6 page discussion has been nothing but childish, running in circles talking pedantic nonsense about hair colour. Kanye West's was the first witty comment of the entire conversation. Although I'm not complaining about the picture of Inferno from Gladiators.

It hasn't been 'nothing but childish'. There have been some good points on both sides of the argument.
It's a pity some people only seem capable of insults or laughing at people.

Lauren, you might as well lock it. People are just insulting the OP now and then defending their right to laugh at him

Thread has been locked. I apologise to the OP, but people changed the topic and insults started flying. U2U me if you feel my decision has been unjust, thanks.
