View Full Version : Dennis Dennis banned from any further BB shows

SHAMED Big Brother spitter Dennis McHugh was in hiding last night after C4 bosses BANISHED him and BANNED him from any further involvement with the show.

The man branded the most hateful housemate ever after he spat in Mohamed's face was forced to keep his mouth shut about the incident as Channel 4 refused him the chance to defend himself in any interview.

As Dennis fled back to Scotland, show makers Endemol became embroiled in fresh controversy when it emerged BB staff knew the gay dance teacher BEFORE he went on the show.

It has been claimed his close connections with creative directors Phil Edgar-Jones and Sharon Powers accounted for the 12-hour delay between the spitting incident and his removal from the house.

On Friday the powerful pair met privately with the unrepentant 23-year-old, whose removal is believed to have been ordered by Channel 4, rather than Endemol.

A Big Brother source revealed: "Dennis knows Phil and Sharon through his previous involvement on their shows. He was even a guinea pig for them in the BB house three years ago. Phil is from Scotland as well so there was some obvious sympathy there. Channel 4 is completely disgusted with his behaviour, but Phil and Sharon still insisted on going to see him on Friday."

Channel 4 yesterday confirmed Dennis was well known to senior BB staff.

"Dennis has auditioned for previous series of Big Brother and as such, will have come into contact with members of production," said a spokeswoman. She added: "All housemates speak with senior production staff upon leaving the Big Brother house."

Police yesterday quizzed Dennis under caution about the spitting incident. No action was taken, but they could press charges after speaking to Mohamed.

A Hertfordshire police spokeswoman said: "Officers will speak with the potential complainant as and when he leaves the house."

Channel 4 have totally disowned Dennis, even forcing him to leave London.

They have insisted he gives no interviews on his Big Brother experience and have vowed he will have no further association with the show, ruling out appearances on Big Brother's Little Brother or the reunion show at the end of the series.

A Channel 4 source said: "We don't want anything to do with him.He needs to be forgotten as soon as possible. It's not good for the show's reputation.

"We can't stop him coming out of the woodwork to do an interview in a few weeks, but it will be nothing to do with us.

"In our opinion he's the worst and most hateful housemate we've had and he'll be treated in that way." Even notorious show bullies Alexandra de Gale and Jade Goody were given the opportunity to speak to presenter Davina McCall after leaving.

But a show source said that, other than in the diary room on the afternoon of his axing, Dennis has expressed no remorse.

The insider said: "He watched the show last night and realised how appalling he looked, but did not say sorry again and doesn't want to.

"He wasn't crying, he wasn't upset, he just kept on acting like the vicious little queen that he is."

Dennis spat in Mohamed's face in the early hours of Friday during a row which erupted after housemates were plied with cider. He claims he made a spitting action but nothing came out of his mouth.

Most Hateful Housemate ever? I don't know if that's quite warranted

*glares in direction of Alex and Charley*

I think that is a bit much TBF and if it is true of CHL 4 then they are blatantly trying to make amends for past allowances on their part.

Yeah, I think they're over-compensating for things like the Shilpa-race row and Emily (BB8)'s removal.

Everyone deserves a chance to defend their actions.

Sorry, I don't believe it. I think it's made up. Dennis was not a hateful housemate at all apart from that one incident. For the rest of the three weeks he spent in the house, he wasn't vicious in any way. He deserved a spot in the finale for sure. And how could Channel 4 force him out of London? They don't own him now just because he was on Big Brother. Additionally, not allowing him to go on BBLB or be interviewed would make Channel 4 look realllly bad, plus lose them the ratings they'd get for having him. I also don't believe that Dennis was not remorseful considering he regretted the incident greatly, even though it may be true that he didn't cry upon seeing the footage (and why should he? It wouldn't help anything)... what the "insider" saw as not caring could just be Dennis trying to move on with his life, and good on him for it!

I personally LOVED watching Dennis in front of the diary room laughing at a sobbing Mohamed... evil as that may sound... as before Big Brother Mohamed beat up a classmate with a belt for being gay (which basically shattered that classmate's life) so I think this little thing is much less than he deserves for ruining that person's life like that and being so cruel to him.

Everyone is making it out to be a HUGE deal. Yes, Dennis spat at Mohamed. So what? It's bad but it's not nearly as huge an event as everyone is making it out to be. No spit actually even touched Mohamed, as Dennis said in the diary room.

Sorry but I don't recall Jade, Charley, or Alex assaulting another HM in the same manner.
Even Grace who through water over another HM was 'forgiven' and allowed on future shows.
I'm completeley in favour of this attitude someone has to draw the line somewhere on what is bad and what is considered dispicable and vile.
Dennis over stepped that line, and spitting at someone can never be accepted no matter who does it.
I just hope he does someday regret what he has done so he appreciates exactly whats not acceptable behaviour, as he at the moment dos'nt seem to think spitting is, thats shameful.

Well in that frame of mind i hope that one day you do something you regret and are never given a chance to defend it or apologise.

I suppose as you have so eloquently argued his case for him, a bit like Luke only much more understandable english.

Yeah ....lets give him a chance, I'll borrow Davina my wet suite just in case he accidently dribbles in her direction :joker:

Good.

He committed assault. It wasn't just a case of aggressive behaviour, he actually assaulted Mohamed. (I'm not a lawyer, but I believe it comes under 'battery' assault).

Common assault, rather similar to the charge Naomi Campbell faced in court just days earlier, and she was probably provoked as much as Dennis was during this incident.... ie .....none really what so ever, just a vile person losing thier rag and not caring what people think.

Interestingly though, the public were dissapointed Campbell was given such a paltry sentance, and many wandered why she was'nt sent to prison.
I heard several comments along the lines of "if that had been you or I, we would have gone down for that"
Dennis therefore can think himself very very lucky, he got off with nothing more than a few sharp words from a voice conveyed to him from within a box, then sent home.
Naomi Campbell will surely consider an appeal now :joker:

I am sure you are correct, i am also sure that a few of the other HMs broke laws by being intimidating, and threatening and generally ugly ....lol......

They broke no laws.

But, in past series similar laws HAVE been broken with no police action taken.

It's common (not assault) but only if he intended to physically harm Mohamed, which he didn't. I think that threatening to kill someone's loved ones is a lot more severe than spitting, people are just too soft nowadays. If Alex, Charley, Emily, and Jade had interviews, I think that Dennis should be allowed to have one as well.

It also comes under battery, though, I'm sure? (Like I said, not a lawyer).

Battery is to purposely intend to make harmful or OFFENSIVE contact with another person, and liquid or bodily fluids in this matter is considered to fulfil the definition.

It CAN (in worst case, very stupid scenario) result in actual jail time. (I remember reading about something like that in the US but can't find it).

It might help to get some historical perspective on this

Whenever there is legal matters pending, C4 / Endemol disown HM's They did this with Sezer when he was accused of rape - IIRC that was a bogus accusation in the end, but Sezer was not allowed anywhere near the final or the reunion on BBLB. To some extent they also did the same with Bonnie.

Emily was also declared persona non grata

The original bad boy Nick has been on various places, because he did not break the law and put C4 /Endemol in an awkward position

Sorry you cant compare it to that S(l)eazer is a slime ball, absolute slime ball.
Dennis madea mistake in the heat of the moment.
Give the guy a chance to defend himself like everyone else has had!!!

Dennis wont be on BBLB or the finale i dont think because the incident can be taken further by police if mohammed wants to,... personally i think was dennis done was bad but there is no need to dwell on it... i dont like mohammed in the slightest but wouldn't say i support dennis because of this... dennis knows he done wrong and has apologised which is more than can be said for Alex so i think he deserves more of a chance than she does but its all technicalities that alex's behaviour cant be taken further whereas dennis' can

I think Dennis should have a BBLB to defend his actions, but (like Emily) not be able to attend the other events. Although it was in the heat of an argument, Dennis assailed Mohamed which is definitely unacceptable behavior.

The only person to put the producers in a awkward position and get away with it was Jade Gobby and her little bitch dogs. I wish C4 / Endemol could have disown them back to the gutter from whence they came.

I was not making a comment about any HM past or present, only how C4 / Endemol have acted in the past when a HM was potentially in trouble with the law.

I think it is only right that Dennis is being dropped by CH4 (if its true). What he did has no defense, it is dirty, vile and unacceptable. It is also a criminal offence one which he has been questioned for and may be charged for at a later date.

Those that say no spit reached Mohamed, well watch it in HD is what I will tell you, you clearly see the spit.

As for it being a mistake, a mistake how the hell can spitting in another persons face be a "mistake" it was deliberate, granted it was not thought out so had no premeditation to it but still urghhhh!!

I think it's justified to an extent, however I read on the NOTW website that a Channel 4 "source" (albeit they might have nothing much to do with Channel 4, but still) branded him a "vicious little queen". I think that's disgusting, and a little bit homophobic. Can you imagine someone made a similar comment regarding say, Mohamed's race?

I thought that too - surely they can't have anything related to C4 and say that.

And threatening to harm or possibly kill someone's loved ones and relatives is perfectly acceptable? Come on, who was worse, Dennis who made one mistake or Alex, who consistently intimidated and belittled housemates time after time.

I remember when Frank Rijkaard spat in Rudi Voller's bubble-perm mullett. It was absolutely disgraceful, one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen. The spitting wasn't nice either.
