Big Brother housemate Dennis McHugh demands £1000 to say sorry for spit shamSHAMED Big Brother housemate Dennis McHugh yesterday said he would publicly apologise for spitting in Mohamed's face - but only if he gets paid.

The part-time dance teacher was back in Scotland after Channel 4 bosses booted him off the show for his vile assault.

And no sooner was McHugh, 23, home in Edinburgh than he dispatched friends to demand cash from the media.

One family friend contacted the Daily Record, trying to make a deal for an interview, and suggested we trump a downmarket English tabloid who had apparently offered Dennis £900.

She said: "He is sorry for what happened but he's not going to do anything for nothing."

The Record declined the offer.

Yesterday, a show insider said: "What Dennis did was seriously offensive. When he was evicted, the Big Brother bosses didn't allow him to do any interview with Davina McCall or any of the other shows associated with it.

"After he's back in Scotland, clearly they can't help it if he crawls out of the woodwork, but you have to say he has a brass neck asking for money after what happened.

"He's trying to drain the last dregs out of his 15 minutes of fame. It's pathetic."

Channel 4 bosses had earlier sent McHugh packing after he to spat on Mohamed's face during a booze-fuelled argument. McHugh was questioned by police under caution after his removal from the house but he was not arrested or taken to a police station.

Hertfordshire police have said no further action will be taken until they can speak to Mohamed.

Viewers will tonight see Scot Mikey take centre stage as the adviser for the latest task, titled "the blind leading the blind".

As part of the task, the housemates must work in pairs, with one member of each pair blindfolded for three hours. After three hours, housemates must swap places.

He's got a nerve asking for cash. I bet he was expecting more dough from the tabloids, but after what he did I am not surprised they are offering peanuts

That headline is so out of context.
To be fair, whatever the result, everyone's gonna want to come away with SOMETHING after the show, whether it's cash, or fame.

Emily did it last year [posing in Nuts] so it's hardly unusual.

How shallow is that, wanting paid to apologise publicly. I am sure Mohamed would rather he just said sorry to his face and meant it than try to do it in a public way.

What a shallow, manipulative jackass. He said he regretted the incident - obviously not if he wants to be paid to apologise. He obviously doesn't care or feel bad about what he did, otherwise he'd apologise in a heartbeat.

Emily didn't demand it though.

He was offered it? Typical tabloid headline to reel in the punters.

To be honest, if I was him, after Big Brother banned him from 'any further involvement' I'd refuse to apologise in public. He probably wanted to, and tell his side of the story, but they wouldn't let him have a chance and give him an interview with Davina - despite the fact even Alex got one.

No, but I'm sure she tried to make as much money as she could out of it.

Anyway, he doesn't deserve anything - either did Emily tbh.

This story is extremely misleading. Dennis has already apologized numerous times for what he did, and not because he got paid to. It is true, however, that he was offered 900 pounds for an exclusive interview with a magazine and would naturally not accept less than that for an interview with another newspaper (which would mean forfeiting the first offer, which was dependent upon the interview being exclusive).
