It's my nephew's name, he was born on Saturday and we've had a mixed reaction to it so far.
Personally I like it. What do you think?
PS: It's pronounced "Eh-bin" rather than "Ee-bin". Think "Ebenezer".

I like the fact that it's unique.

Its a interesting name, I don't know I would call a child but its unique type of name as Mark said.

It's ok... well, it's not horrible.
If I was into 'unique' names - it's very nice.
But I prefer traditional names so my view is somewhat biased. :blush2:

Yeah it is pretty unique. It was between Eben and Cooper.
Her other son is called Archie.

I've not heard it before. Some people like unique and I prefer it to Archie :thumbs2:

I hadn't heard it before but she got it from the film Thirty Days Of Night. The main character is called Eben.

He's just Eben but that's where it's originated. It's weird because a lot of people ask is Archie is short for Archibald.

I think it's an awful name, I'd hate to be called it.
"Eee-biinn, your tea son" oh I'd hate it.

I have a baby cousin called Eben but we pronounce it Ee-bin. It's not bad. But my family have an obsession with unuasual names. Some others are Rueben, Esme, Isa, Frieda, Rhea and Imelda. Not exactly your Jack and Jane, eh?

Good thing it's not pronounced "Ee-bin" then.
Gazbo, I love the name Reuben.
It's the same name as the main character in 30 Days of Night so I guess it must come from somewhere? Incidently spoken with an American accent, it sounds very similar to Evan.

Would sort of be like calling a boy Emma, though. It's not a gender neutral name. Fair enough though.

I prefer David. Soz.

No it's different for girls completely. Like if a boy was called Emma (no offence to any boys who are:shocked:) it just wouldn't sound right but with girls who have male names its sometimes cool and works (Jordan, Jay.... erm Ryan Shamrock anyone?)
In fact thats it when I have a daughter she's getting called Eben!!

Well Jordan, like Ashley, for example, is gender neutral.
Do what you like though lol

Who would call a girl Ryan!? That is ridiculous.

I am not keen on names that are so unusual its as if people just make them up on the spot, or shove some random letters together.. :bored:
