View Full Version : Ang's new boob job...

I agreed to start this thread mainly because Angela (Angiebabe) wished to make known something that she feels is important to others who may have a similar worry. She, and I too, think it would help her and others to discuss this on this forum.
After discussions last night in a similar thread, she revealed privately to me that she has been suffering from breast cancer.
I doubt that any of us would have guessed that, because of her positivity, and the way she adds something extra special to each thread.
I would add that the thread title itself was, of course, Angela's idea.
But there’s a lesson there – because, rather than sympathy (although kind words go a long way), positive messages are what are needed sometimes to help people get through difficult times, and I’ve learnt that from her.
She is due a mastectomy in 3 weeks, and yet she is so cheery. It really helps to put things in perspective. This thread is to discuss anything you like with her, be it how she is coping with cancer (I am sure she would be more than willing to respond), or your own advice/personal experiences.

WOW!! that was quick, thanks Ash  for the help with this thread.
After last night someone posted a problem they were having and it brought home to me what Ive been going through although, Ive had time to ajust to the news and the thearphy, the last of which is in 3 weeks time.
I just want this to be a thread where maybe I could help, even by discussing it with Ash, and Nickyy it has helped me to get prepared for the easiest bit, but also hardest bit too, (the bra's they have are awful) looks like I may go down the Jordan route and have a melon inserted inside my chest :joker:
I don't want sympathy honestly, I just want to help cope and make things easier myself and being able to write this IS a real God send as time gets nearer to that opp :sad:
Well as Ash has said here if anyone has anything similar or even been through this then please come and add something here.
Believe me the relief Ive had speaking about this to Ash has been tremendous and if that can be the case for someone else then I'll be over the moon with joy.
Thanks again Ash, and everyone else, Angela x
Oh btw,, I've been told the opp will more than likely stop this cancer spreading all the other biopsy reports show clear signs everywhere cept this right breast, which darn well aint moving ... so no morbid thoughts I'm not going anywhere unless of course the hospital burns down :rolleyes:

I really didn't see that coming.
What I'm going to say is that you're a fantastic person, funny, caring and incredibly positive so I wish you the best and hope you get well soon.
P.S on a lighter note, great choice of topic title!

Rather than thank people individually I will say another thanks here, but now will only respond if someone asks or has some info specifically to breast cancer, that way it will save my fingers too
Btw, My sister had the idea of typing out all your messages to take with me we both know what fun i have here the time alone spent speaks volumes to how much I love this new 'home' so all your messages no matter how small will really mean something to me, and I really do appreciate every single one of them.

yes, I spoke with my agent today who specialises in ways to gain maximum attention , you may know her she's in BB well for the next 9 hours at least till she gets back to work tomorrow but it was she who reccomended the boob job title, and thats why she's worth every penny as an expert in attention seeking schemes :joker::wink:
(only kiddin :wink::rolleyes:)

Ang, trust you to grab all of our attention with something like this! (Only kidding ).
I'm not going to say the cliché lines of "I'm sorry to hear that", but I do empathise enormously with how you and your family must be feeling right now.
Remember; your mind is stronger than your body, so when your body fails somewhat, your mind (and PMA) is always there to keep you up.
On the plus side, you get lots of sympathy (and sympathy chocolates and wine!!) for it.
x
Just think of all the presents (including grapes :spin:) that you'll get, and the big party you can throw at the end of it when you've got the all clear

Thats a good Idea Tom, I'm sure it will be organised by someone who owes me in the numerous bedroom tidying hours Ive done for 'her'
As for the grapes Tom great idea because I can get my friend >:elephant:<
to tread them all into more wine:thumbs:
Oh and Lauren, yes the plan worked I got all the attention so you could relax on the moderating side whilst you go sunbathe in the garden watching the tennis :rolleyes::whistle: i swear nobody will notice shhhhhhhhhhhh
(and yes, with one breast less I can now afford to put the extra weight somewhere else, so its a right choccy wine feast asap)

You know Angie. You are so positive, and you bring a bit of light into my life on here. I find you funny and uplifting. You have no negativity and that is such a good thing.
You have become a popular member in a short space of time, so you must have the same affect on other people too.

Well Angie you really seem like a lovely, pleasant lady. I haven't really got to speak to you much but I can see that you are a great member just by reading your posts and all the members seem to really like you as well. I send all my best wishes both to you and your family. You remind me a lot of an old friend I used to have on here called Ann, I haven't heard from her in ages, and seeing a member like you really brings a smile to my face. I can see you both have similar characteristics, and I hope to be able to talk you as a friend in the future. Give that horrid Cancer a good ol' fight won't you, get well soon Angie xxxx
WOW If there was anybody to have that on this forum you would be the last person I would guess. But you got to hold your head up high, be positive and beat the bitch!
Oh no..
That is absolutely terrible. I didn't expectt that!
I hope everything is ok, Angie. But, you seem to be showing such a positive attitude, and all I can say is stick to it. I really do hope the best for you. Of all the members, you are the most positive, and I just hope you get through this. I will keep you in my thoughts through these next few weeks. Good luck and just try to stay positive!

Well as I cant find the official going away thread now:puzzled: I thought I'd use this one instead.
I will be away from tomorrow morning in hospital for my opperation on Tuesaday.
Its a full mastectomy of my right breast so I'll be off for a few days, I've been told I can take a lap top(my daughters..lol) when I'm fit enough use it hopefully soon after the opp, but will probably be so tired to post anything, but I want to take it to read from you lovely people here, I think your more entertainig than a damn newspaper.
I've been told I could, if all goes well, recover enough to be home next week possibly Saturday, and that the surgery should see a real positive difference to this cancer spreading, and thats a relief.
I'm really nervous, really scared and realy truly going to miss all of you.
I've cried for most of this day and been a tad grouchy with some of my posts today, but nothing to bad I hope
Its been the worry and real sense of scariness ....:bored:
But reading through some of the threads here (and I will be taking them with me) it just made me so incredibly humbled to know how much, so many care, and thats really effected me all day.
Your a wonderful bunch of people, and even I struggle to find words to tell you how much friends like you all mean to me at this time right now.
But I intend to be back soon and try every day to do just that, tell you all exactly how much I love and appreciate everyone on tibb, and believe me I will
Angela
ps*My daughter is going to send messages here or to spike just to let you know how things are going during the week.
