Stigma of gameplans

Why is there such a negative connotation with "playing a game" or having a strategy? Big Brother is a game show after all. Seriously.

Because it suggests that the person is cunning, and manipulative. Viewers respect housemates more when they just be themselves and go far because of that. It says a lot for their character.

Because if we can see they have a game plan, it's not a very effective game plan.

There's a difference between 'game plans' and being a complete idiot to people.

at least playing the game is more interesting than running round the garden everyday and following kat ......

Aye its interesting, and in the case of Charley, Jen, Alexandra etc, it generates a lot more viewers. This doesn't mean the public like them though. And, although in some cases the public choose to keep them in for most of the series, they never win as they aren't deemed deserving enough in their eyes.

it seems overbearing because there really isn't much game to play. Don't get in too many fights and hope the public love you...it's a slightly more complex popularity contest.
