At 7am before school.I went to the doctors on Friday and they told me. Ive never had one done and Im pretty scared because I dont like needles and I just hope it doesnt hurt. I was told not to eat for 12 hours before so I havnt eaten since 7 and have to wait until tomorrow.

Also, I was giving this acne cream from the doctors, its sort of actually working! Yay!!

Yeah, Ive had it done before, the cream is great, you feel nothing apart from a little push, dont worry, I was scared when I was going to have it done but its fine!

Good luck!
I was scared for mine last year too. All the way through secondary school everyone would fear having the "6 needle" injection and I HATED needles. When I had it done though it didn't feel bad at all. Its just a little prick. You'll feel much better getting it over and done with.

I have the biggest phobia of needles ever! Long story.

They just put it in and draw blood, you hardly feel it.

I still hate them though.

Good luck though, and I hope everything's ok. x

Im having the blood test because I constantly feel tired all the time recently. Im not sure why. I hope everything is okay too. I just want it to be over.

I have a phobia of needles, but I am a blood donor.

What my nurse used to do was sing a song whilst she was doing it LOL, and on another occasion she was describing the perfectly holiday (and my dad was in the room) and she deviated a tiny bit and started talking about naked men sunbathing with glistening bodies - it was so scary.

It really doesn't hurt all that much to be honest, despite the size of the needle. Once it's in, it's fine. I watch the blood go into it for some reason.

I've one too during the week, to see if I've got Diabetes or Anemia because I get really dizzy when I stand up.

I had one a few weeks ago and I was dreading it. But it doesn't hurt at all and it only takes about 1 second.

It's not bad really, it's over before you know it.Just try and focus on something else and you'll barely notice.Good luck.

It gets worse the more you think about it imo.

If it's not too personal, what's the test for?

Last time I had to have one was because I suddenly started feeling lethargic and thought I could be diabetic. Came back as normal and was just being lazy. ;)

Have fun. In 3 week's im getting my toe nail off, finally. I have to get two needle's in both side's of my toe and she said "it's gonna be very painful" but it will be worth it. I fainted last time i went and all she did was put a plaster on my toe haha

Okay I have just done it. Omgg! The first time it hit my nerve and it hurt so much, the doctor said it was like 1/100 chance for that to happen. But the 2nd time was alright.

Aww, well done. Where did you get your blood test taken? On your arm or hand?

Glad it was not too bad for you.

I remember having one as a child. The doctor kept missing the vein as he could not find it. Never had a problem with them since.

The worst one was when I had an asthma attack. They need to get an oxygen level reading. For that they take the blood from the artery in your wrist. That was not pleasant.

The last one I did was for Aids and even if I'm not a huge fans of needles, sometimes blood tests are needed.
But it so doesn't hurt, really, it will push a bit and then it's over.

I've just seen this, so its to late to wish you well, but hope things did go ok.
I've had a few blood tests myself lately and a few more to come, and I know they can be daunting but I hope you coped well today and had plenty of support with you.

When you finally get home It will be nice to sit and read these messages too, knowing a lot care for you who cant be with you that ort to help pick you up. In the mean time get well soon, that needle is a thing of the past now and you got through it fine.:kiss:

Thanks everyone.

I had it on the arm. My right arm is hurting so much because thats the arm that the needle got my nerve. I cant move it. My other arm is fine. If the doctor did it properly the first time round, I wouldnt be in pain!!! lol
