Davina Fav to host new Blind Date for ITV1

BIG Brother host Davina McCall last night emerged as the bookies’ favourite to take over the revamped Blind Date.

The Channel 4 star is 6/1 to take over from legendary host Cilla Black when the show returns next year.

And bosses could be on to a perfect match as Davina, 40, is on the prowl for new projects.

A pal revealed: “There’s no reason why she couldn’t do Big Brother and Blind Date as well.

“She’s been having a long hard think about her career path — getting a new agent and looking at new areas.”

X Factor host Dermot O’Leary, 35, and Geordie duo Ant and Dec, both 32, are equal second faves with bookies Paddy Power, at 8/1.

TV Biz revealed last week that the dating show — which ended in 2003 when Cilla, 65, quit on air after 18 years — is to return to ITV1.

Talent guru Simon Cowell, 48, is making the revamped series with production firm TalkbackThames

I doubt Cilla would want to do Blind Date because she quit live on air. But if Davina was to present it has flop written allover it. Anything she touches these days flops. Anyone remember her version of Blind Date called Love on a Saturday Night?

I like her though, I hope she gets it and I hope it does well.

I used to love Blinda Date and Cilla. I'm glad it's being brought back. Tom you'll be glad to know Holly Willoughby has overtook Davina in the betting odds for who will be the host.
