HEAVEN OR HELL
'Game on' as house is divided'

It is going to be Heaven and Hell for Big Brother's housemates next week.

The famous telly house will be split in half by the show's bosses.

One group will live in luxury and enjoy treats.

But the unlucky other wannabes will have to suffer.

The BB gang will be asked to choose one person to become "Head of House" today.

For the whole of next week, that person will have the power over everyone.

The lucky candidate will win immunity from eviction from the house next week.

They will also decide which of the gangs the other housemates will join.

The head of house will also:

Make the housemates in "hell" do all the tasks while the others lounge around.
Lock the "baddies" in the glass pod in the garden and make them nominate in front of everyone else.
Stick folk in the BB padded cell - which was unveiled by the show's host Davina McCall, 40 - on opening night.
Choose when BB's tokens - for things like hot water, hair straighteners and treats - can be used.

The sensational stunt is part of a Heaven And Hell Week planned by BB chiefs.

However, the chosen one may find that their godly new role comes at a price. Those sent to hell in the BB house are likely to turn against him or her, because of the power they will be given.

And it could put them in the firing line for eviction the following week as revenge for the things they have forced others to suffer.

A BB source said last night: "Will being head of house be a dream role or a poisoned chalice?

"They will have complete power over the others.

"But power can corrupt.

"And they could find out it can be lonely at the top if everyone turns against them.

"Now the game really begins."

The head-of-house stunt has been used in BB USA.

However in their show the HoH gets to pick who should go up for eviction.

Assuming this is true, it sounds great.

Much better than just a blunt physical divide.

It's good, but I wish it was longer than one week long. Have multiple HoHs!

i cant see how they will turn against head of house because they will all understand and will be like its ok its part of what we have to do... no hard feelings... and head of house will consult housemates on token uses and go with the majority
hopefully they prove me wrong.... will the house be divided physically or just some housemates are for heaven some for hell

Or that it may change throughout the week, depending on whether the HOH deciding the nominess rule isn't used. (Which it hasn't said in this article...hmm)

Could have been...I just don't think it'll carry on past this week. It defeats the purpose of BBUK then, and producers would not risk that.

Can't wait... I hope it goes on longer than a week. We need something continuous to keep it interesting, not just stunts and gimmicks.

Yes, they used Head of Household each week on the US version, but the US version is rubbish. It's a horrible excuse for a show, all they do is sit around and backstab each other, it's nothing like the brilliant UK version.

The UK has the adorable and funny Divina, the US gets's Les Moonves's (President of CBS, the network which airs the show) wife Julie Chen who has the personality of Marvin the Paranoid Android.

I have a feeling that even though they say the US has used this Head of Household device before, the UK will use it much better.

The US version is awesome (although BB9 sucked) and has been far better than our series for years now. BBUK use to be number one, but it's far too manipulated now, bias editing, viewing public voting out women all the time and lame tasks.

The US version is not a popularity contest and they are not all seeking fame, they actually want to win! They treat it like a game show which is what it is. It's great to see the alliances and backstabbing. Rather than the constant bitching in BBUK over pointless stuff.

Plus the endurance tasks in BBUSA are awesome.

BB10 starts this Sunday, can't wait!

BBUS "IS" a game show all the way!

but BBUK is a social experiment! yerh..it is a game show in the sence of someone has to win it!!!!!
but the process and the experience of people are social experiments...

although the show are both called big brother....
they are different......and we dont need to make BBUK like BBUS because that show they just keep backstabing everyone
