View Full Version : Why would anyone go in the house for fame when...

...the housemates are honestly not really that famous?

I mean, if you go around asking people on the street if they know who "Luke Marsden" or "Ziggy Lichman" is most of them will just give you a blank stare. The fact is if one wants to be famous going on BB is not the way to do it. I took the initiative to do some searching on last year's housemates recently. Mind you I actually had to seek them out. The only thing I could find on any of them is that Chanelle did a music video... and remember that if I hadn't actually done the search I'd never have heard about any of them again. I hear about most celebrities all the time just by accident without even trying. Obviously if people were interested in them they'd be reported on.

So, anyway, I guess my point is that, while BB can be fun, don't do it for fame because the housemates are honestly not famous at all. In fact it's hard to imagine someone going into the house to become famous.

Goody is a millionaire - Bryan on tv, as is Craig. Some will get their 15 minutes of fame and that's all they want.

I agree. If you really want 5 minutes of fame, you can go on Big Brother but by the year after you're on...you're forgotten about completely. You may make your money, but you won't be eternally famous. You'll usually be mocked and marked as a Z-Lister.

Stephanie, Chanelle, Amy, and pretty much any girl on Big Brother hoping to become an A-Lister is hopless.

Good job, Larry bringing up the most successful housemate ever in 9 years of Big Brother... and even she hasn't been in the news since she was robbed over a month ago, and for a long time before that.

No one even remembers Brian anymore. I agree with Rory. It's good to go on for the experience but anyone looking for fame on Big Brother is delusional.

Just like x factor, Britain has Talent...etc they are just people hoping that something may come of their opportunity ---celebrity chef, model contract, song writing, tv presenting etc ...can't blame them for trying....

I'm not blaming them or saying that it's wrong to go on Big Brother. I'm just saying I don't understand people who say "They're only going on there for the fame." I mean, there's nothing wrong with going on BB just for fame, but it's just kind of stupid because fame is so unlikely to happen through BB.

Most get their 15 minutes, some get slightly longer but some completely slip through the net and get a lot more.

Alison, Brian BB2, Jade and Kate have all been very successful upon leaving the house with Aisleyne to a lesser extent. Most people don't even realise Alison was actually on Big Brother. They just think she is a This Morning presenter who has worked her way up in TV.

Most people will know who Chanelle Hayes, Chantelle Houghton, Jade Goody, Kate Lawler, Samanda, Brian Dowling, Nikki Grahame etc are.

They are BB-listers. Theyre own type of celeb. Celebs none the less. Only a select few though

Honestly, I once made a reference to Jade Goody in a conversation and no one had any idea who she was.
