Britney Spears begins work on new album

http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s233/BGRAYSHON/1-50.jpg

Britney Spears is hard at work on a new album, her label announced today (July 16).

The pop star, who has become better known in recent months for her erratic behaviour, paparazzi exploits and high-profile child custody hearing than her music, is apparently attempting to shift her to focus back onto her craft.

"(Spears) is spending her summer in the recording studio, working on a brand new album," her label, Jive Records, and her manager said in a statement to the Associated Press.

"She's working with a team of top-notch producers and songwriters and we're very excited about what she's accomplished so far. No album release date has been confirmed yet," they said.

Spears' most recent album 'Blackout' debuted at Number Two on the US Billboard chart last November, but sales of the album quickly declined.

I heard about this yesterday, apparently they're planning the release for christmas which coincides with the release date of Whitney Houston's album. But I heard this rumour a few months ago so i don't know how true it is.

I can't wait for it, I love Britney's music. I have a feeling the upcoming single will be amazing. I think it's being released early next year now though.

I hate that the article is slanted against Britney but I love that she's coming up with a new album.

Alot of artists are making comebacks towards Christmas, the markets going to be booming haha.

Pink has a single coming out Next month, album in october. Kelly Clarkson will be just after so maybe late next month or early the month after. Then BEP... if all these albums finish on time. Its going to be a battle of the fittest haha.

I agree with Billy.
Perhaps the album should have credited the computer+electronic equipment on the vocals.

I'm not too bothered as I'm not a fan of Britney.
Can't really get any worse musically than Blackout.

In The Zone style-music would be pretty good.

I agree. I realllyy like Britney though so I'm not slagging her, but I really hope she goes back to singing herself.

Yeah, I'm with Billy on this one.

This is her perfect chance to 'rise'. Lets see if she's up to the challenge.

I love the Blackout music. Just because the era was a bad time for Britney, doesnt mean it was for Britneys music.

Shes an amazing performer, and an amazing singer. Just not last year LOL

I'm hoping she really does well, and I have a feeling she will.

TBH i couldnt care less what her vocals are like or weather computers/robots/sound editing are used.as long as she releases good music im happy.for me Blackou was her best era music wise.

LMFAO!!

&KKBL; I guess we just have different tastes in music. IMO, good music is people who's vocals don't need to be heavily tampered with unless they're used for effect at parts of a song, but not for an entire album.

Agree. Britney has not got a great natural voice, at all. She is just a manufactured pop princess trying to find her place in the music world of today.

Ugh, that was my least favourite album!

I am looking forward to it tho, whether or not she's very talented, I do love her music!

it was but the album before that Breakway sold 12 million copies so it makes up for the flop album.

I don't think it was a flop but it didn't do as well as her others I don't think but i can't say for sure. I liked My December though, I can't wait for the follow-up!

Manufactured? She actually worked her way to a record deal. She didn't appear on any reality shows or what not. And everything from her second album was completely her own image. She didn't need to find a place, she had a place. At the time of her prime, she was probably considered one of the biggest popstars in the world - and still is today.

Well she didn't exactly become Matilda, she's been Britney all along. Sure she had her problems, but who hasn't?

I am just wondering if she has got herself together and is able to give this such a commitment that she needs to. She has had a very turbulent time of recent.

Personally I'd rather see her get her kids back than record an album. But she's having fun doing it and she's slowly managing to get both done so I'm pleased.

I'm not a fan of Britney's music but I hope its more her voice, than a computer doing all the work with editing her voice, etc..
She has a great voice though, and its a shame that the computer has to edit it.

Personally, although I know Britney will, I'd much rather Kelly+Pink do better in the charts.
Obvs it depends on the songs.

I'm scared Kelly will go all radio friendly again.
My December is MUCH better than Breakaway, her voice suits rock.

As for Britney, I agree with Markus. Perhaps get her kids first.

It is, and its why she's made such a change. She's already won back overnights and there's a hearing tomorrow to discuss further changes.
