DOLLHOUSE focuses on a secret organization that employs "Actives" -- a group of operatives who have their memories and personalities wiped clean so they can be imprinted with new ones, allowing them to take on various missions for hire. DOLLHOUSE airs Mondays (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) this January on FOX. Starring Eliza Dushku (Faith from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.) Produced by Joss Whedon.
I personally think it looks great, I can't wait for it!

This has the potential to either be REALLY great or REALLY bad... I'll be interested to watch it and see how it goes. But yeah, sounds like it could be a really good format for a drama.

I love Eliza...but it kinda of confuses me. I'll see how it goes.
I used to be obsessed with Tru Calling.

I am just afraid that it will be axed after a few episodes like Tru Calling was, I hope not though.

I heard about this a while ago. Sounds great, very original and i love the name!
does anyone know if it has been picked up by a UK broadcaster?

It annoys me when we get a new show over here, then they axe it in the USA, and we don't get the rest of it. That happened with the Sky One show Stand-Off and with another one I watched called "Kidnapped".
I don't know if I like the look of dollhouse, but hopefully it wont get cancelled anyway.

This looks like one of the better shows for the new season along with Fringe

Sky and Fox are connected
so if SkyOne does not want it (due to them fully booked with shows)
there old mate Dawn Airey on Ch5
will want it
and try to beat Ch4's pitch, if any.

It was meant to be amazing, but Fox didnt like it and made them re-shoot it and now it's not as good.

Fox has that right
as they have funded it.

Yeah, Fox didn't really agree with things in the original pilot so they made Joss tweak things around. The new pilot was then scrapped and the second episode was made the first. It's still really good though, considering no one has seen the original episode.

Wooo... lets hope it can be as good as Buffy which was the best and a great success ratings wise, it was made as a a show that the producers thought was going to fail but then had the highest ratings on the channel it was on, and there was an increase from a 3.7m average for the 1st season to a 5.3m average in the 3rd season, and then between Season 4-7 it was getting 4.2-5.2m every time.
The thing about these kind of shows is that it can either go one way, or another, theres no middle, its either a sucess or its a big flop, and I have a feeling Dollhouse will flop.

Here's spoiler for the next episode not too much of a spoiler, but its supposed to be a great episode
Dubbed the "Dollhouse" episode that "you'll never forget", the March 20 story is written by the creator himself, Joss Whedon. Echo tries to help a client heal the ache of a lost love as a TV reporter prepares an expose on the Dollhouse. Whedon himself said the episode represents "a much stronger vision" he considers the show to be.
Echo becomes the perfect wife for a lonely Internet mogul (guest star Patton Oswalt), and Sierra's attacker is revealed. Meanwhile, Mellie's life is in danger and Agent Ballard's investigation takes a surprising turn when he comes face-to-face and goes fist-to-fist with Echo for the first very time.
Called "Man on the Street", the ep is airing March 20.
Although entering with mediocre rating in the beginning of the season, Whedon promises that the show will pick up the pace. He said, "For me, the question isn't just whether a show is enjoyable, but whether it's more than the sum of its fun, whether it truly touches, surprises or connects with you. These (episodes) may do none of the above - I'm not the boss of your opinion - but I feel strongly that they, and the eps to follow, are pretty intense, and very much worth the watching."

So who thinks that weird chick who makes lasagnas is an active?
MarkWaldorf
15-03-2009, 05:41 PM
LOL do you think? I'm so terrible with judgement! I didn't even guess that Victor was an active, and even when it was revealed it took me ages to figure out how he was.

15-03-2009, 05:45 PM
Well, I suspect it! Otherwise I dont see why she acts the way she does.
MarkWaldorf
15-03-2009, 05:48 PM
According to Wiki, the woman who plays her was originally cast as an active but the role was dropped. Weird!
Next weeks looks awesome though. Echo finally comes face to face with Ballard.

Yeah, me neither. And its picking up ratings which is great news. Hopefully it wont get cancelled. I think having TSCC and Dollhouse the same night, help both shows.
MarkWaldorf
15-03-2009, 06:17 PM
Yeah! TSCC is doing worse so hopefully that puts Dollhouse in a better light for FOX. I was so worried when it dipped to 3.5 Million last week! It just kept falling.
Oh yeah! And I read that FOX aren't making a decision on Dollhouse' future so soon because they're aware that Joss has a loyal cult following which could equal huge DVD sales and merchandising. So, as long as Dollhouse makes FOX some money I think it should be safe for now.
Omfg, I love this show so much.
