1) It does not rain all the time.

2) We don't 'do' Sheep.

3) We're not all farmers.

4) We aren't inbreds.

 Thank you please.

We are not sheep shaggers.
We do not all have a welshy accent.
It is not a country for people on the dole.
But we are a very patriotic country.

English people NEVER talk about how great we are and how good the country is, Scotland, Ireland and Wales ALWAYS! do, its sooo annoying, its like thier all trying to prove that their country is better than England when its just not. The whole major pride thing that wales, ireland and scotland all have even effects TV shows, for example Leon, the McDonald brothers, the conway sisters (who were all simply terrible!) its just like get over it! Wales a beautiful place all round, its countryside and scenic views are both romanticly tranquil and breathtaking.
I've always had fond memories of St Davids the smallest city in the UK and the furthest western point of Britain.
The countryside around that beautiful city is fabulous and in roughly 50 odd days in some 6 different visits I've never yet experienced a wet day once. I am always impressed by the friendliness of the locals they are a credit to any country Ive ever had the pleasure to visit.
As a child growing up we often took visits to Towyn in North wales, again another supremley brilliant coast line with awsome views and lovely welcoming people never to busy or to snooty when offering an answer on thier homeland they rightlyfully were proud of.

Yes, Wales and the Welsh not always well represented by the media but on the whole its a fantastic country with some of the best and friendliest people in the world living there, I for one love them:hug:

Why does Wales need a topic? Im not trying to be rude but the constant, in your face patriotism IS annoying. We get it. Yer welsh. Not english.

You might represent your country better if you make slightly more logical posts.

I never said Wales was nto stereotyped. In fact, I said ALL nations are stereotyped. Wales, as you all like to constantly remind us, is a nation.

Correct?

Then what makes Wales exempt from being subject to stereotype? Nothing. Your going to be stereotyped regardless, just like every other naiton.

Now lighten up, noodle miner.

Did you know the Welsh do the same thing about Northerners/Midlands, its like a battle of the UK ha. We had so much fun when my friend moved to Wales, she must of been so fed up of all the "Have you had sex with a sheep yet?"

But it was all in the name of fun, I understand why people get annoyed... Im from Manchester imagine how many shameless comments are made haha. (Although i have been told its in Salford not Manchester, but they are close enough)

Im not narrow minded, ive been to Wales twice to visist family and i really didnt like it that much, so when I see like 4 threads saying how amazing the place is I think I have a right to say that I dont agree, after all voicing opinions is the main point of forums.

Firstly, Africa isn't a country...
Secondly, the reason I hate England is because it's full of Xenophobia and people believing it's the greatest nation. That's not pride, it's ignorance.

It's just a personal preference I guess, I don't like countries that assume they're the best and look down on other places. I'd much rather live somewhere else in the UK.

In your opinion, its the best country in the world. Don't go and tell someone to leave just because they have an opinion that doesn't match yours. That's pretty harsh.

Well, I'm back.
I'm not going to swear this time, SamR you need to get out of your bubble though mate.

Wales is a great country, England is a great country, Ireland is a great country and Scotland is a great country!

I never once said that "Ooh, don't stereotype Wales, but you can continue to stereotype other countries."

I know other countries get stereotyped.. but that's not what this topic is about, it's about when people stereotype Wales and SamR thinking he's the big man (once again) wants to rant and moan all the time.

Sorry Sam you said 'English people aren't patriotic?' you sound very patriotic to me "Oh England is amazing, get out Lauren if you don't like it!"

I never usually even think about England or being English I just get annoyed when I hear constant comments about how good Wales and other parts of the UK are compared to England, The welsh people are mostly not like that, its usually English (LAUREN) who talk about how good other parts of the UK are, And all he welsh people on TiBB wont know what Im talking about becuase they actually live there.

The Irish are stereotyped all the time as well! All we're known for is drinking, swearing and leprachauns. The drinking bit is quite true though.

And there are MANY Irish accents!

I hate also how the north of England is stereotyped
like on 8 out of 10 cats tonight, saying about northern women that they're rough, common etc.
