If Rex was female, would he be hated?

A lot of the things he comes out with poke fun at other people, are complaining in some way, boasting or just generally being unpleasant. If Rex was female, I can't help but think he would be absolutely hated because people would label 'her' as a bitch and stuck up. But because Rex is male (and has a female following which I personally can't see why) he somehow gets away with it and its OK? He's being real apparently, but its not ok for female housemates to be 'real' because its not nice.

I dont know, I cant imagine Rex as a female.... I think his sarcasm & dry wit is funny though, and thats why I like him, he is different from the usual
