View Full Version : Nomination & Eviction Twist - An Idea

I came up with a nomination and eviction twist that I think would be cool for one week, or even a major change to how people get evicted, if they kept it for a good few weeks.

Each year people complain that the "bigger character" (usually louder and more annoying) housemates get voted out too early. I've read people suggest to not have nominations every week, and just have a "Vote to Save" for all the housemates, every week. Then the housemates that really do have fans will stay, and the less popular "boring" housemates will leave. But then fans complain that the nominations are a huge part of Big Brother (which they are), and the show would be missing something without them.

So I came up with an idea, that switches both the nominations and evictions to a popularity contest, not an unpopularity contest. Housemates will still nominate two housemates each week, but two housemates they want to STAY, not leave, then the two or more housemates with the most votes, would be SAFE from eviction, and ALL the other housemates would be up for the public vote, in a "Vote to Save".

For example, using the 13 housemates currently in the house this week, ignoring anything to do with HOH, and guessing some of their choices...

Housemates voting for two people to STAY
Dale - Stuart & Bex
Darnell - Mo & Kat
Kat - Rachel & Darnell
Lisa - Mickey & Luke
Luke - Bex & Dale
Maysoon - Darnell & Mo
Mikey - Luke & Lisa
Mo - Darnell & Kat
Rachel - Darnell & Kat
Bex - Luke & Dale
Rex - Darnell & Kat
Sara - Lisa & Bex
Stuart - Bex & Dale

Darnell - 5
Kat - 4
Bex - 4
Dale - 3
Luke - 3
Mo - 2
Lisa - 2
Mikey - 1
Rachel - 1
Stuart - 1
Maysoon - 0
Rex - 0
Sara - 0

Darnell, Kat, and Bex would be SAFE from eviction and all the other housemates would face the public vote, in a "Vote to Save". And then someone like Maysoon or Lisa would go, instead of one of the "bigger characters", like Darnell or Bex.

Everything wouldn't be "happy happy happy" though, as Big Brother would still announce the nomination results on Tuesdays, but they would announce who was SAFE. Then if someone like Kat or Rachel kept getting saved each week, people would get pissed off with that, and less people would nominate them to be safe.

Anything like this been done before? Just something I thought of last night when I couldn't sleep...maybe it's a bit crap? I'd like to see it tried one week at least, though.

Thoughts?

that wouldnt make any of them feel good!

and plus it will kinda tell them who is the most liked...which ruins everything....i think thats why they did vote to evict..and nominate to face eviction!

If that happened, then all the evictions would be boring.

I would have a week where all the housemates are up and there be a double eviction. The housemate with the most votes gets evicted for definate. Then the housemates with the 2nd and 3rd most votes from the public face the housemates vote, like they did with Jade and Lynne in BB3, Makosi and Vanessa in BB6, and Carole and Gerry in BB8.

How about either:

1). Getting the contestants from BB USA to nominate our housemates for eviction based on a pictures of them only?

2). Having a double eviction, but whoever gets the highest percentage to be evicted chooses who else should be evicted with them. Thus adding to major tension and tantrums.

3). have the already evicted housemates come back (only to the diary room then go again) and nominate housemates for eviction (but not reasons) and then play them to the house. How funny and twisted would that be?
