Who is The Stig?

I think I remember it being rumoured that Lewis Hamilton was the Stig. I read it on Digital Spy but I wouldn't take it without a pinch of salt.

Yeah, he is meant to be a driver called Ben Collins. Sometimes co-presents Nascar racing on Sky Sports, was going to say he was on TV now but looked there and he isn't on tonight. :tongue:

The original Stig was a driver called Perry McCarthy but they booted him after he gave it away in his auto-biography.

Most companies get their own driver in to be The Stig when their cars are taken around the track.

Of all the different stigs, one name comes to mind is Jenson Button because when I was watching a re run of top gear, my mate showed me a pic of the stig's picture being taken, and the flash illuminates his face which looks 80% like Button.

It is in The Stig's contract not to reveal who he is the last one who did was sacked and there are many who say they were him but weren't. I’m not even sure it is continually just one guy.
