Its back, TiBBs Official Hotseat!

What is the Hotseat?

No, its not a torture chair, its a place for you to get to know your fellow forum members! Once a week, a member will take their turn on sitting on the Hot Seat. Here, they will put their dignity at risk, and be asked questions that other forum members want to know about them! Of course, the member on the hot seat can choose what questions they can answer, so dont get angry if your question is resolved.

Each week a new member will face the forum - and prepare to answer your questions!

Whats new this time around?

This time the Hot Seat has changed slightly, and you can now come on it in pairs with a TiBB friend! However, this is only optional! Also, those on the "Hot Seat" have the option to post small articles about them, aswell as get Interactive by posting Images of themselves!

Who else has been on the Hotseat?

Well without the obvious Jamaica as I will have to go again one day for family.
I'd have to choose Thailand its a lovely place to holiday or live, and the people there are generally wonderful and always happy, a bit like Kat but without so much screaming and singing

Non really get me mad, occasionally things they do bother me, but a celeb I consitantly don't like Gordon Ramsey, he just scares me and if I ever cooked near him I think I'd rather starve than finish the meal :joker:

I was completely stunned, as a woman your told to check your breasts, which I did from time to time and then it stopped being a big issues after I'd had Nicole(my daughter).
Then I got flu and went for a check up and done a test as the doc asked when was the last time, I said a few years ago properly.
Even when we found the lump last easter it never worried me as usually these are non cancerous and not a problem.
It took a few months and the worst news came through and I thought I'm dead, I didnt speak or want to go out anywhere.
Gradually though you have to think of others and fight for them as much as yourself, so I did, went for all the theraphys and tried and failed with them all.
Till this opp to remove the cancerous breast altogether became an option and when it did I'd made my mind to have it, disfigured is a lot better than dead.
My inspirations have been my familly and the growing ammount of friends here, I'm glad I'm well and alive and very very happy not to just be breathing but have so many wonderful new friends too.

The members of tibb gave me real hope, my close familly and I will never forget the ammount of well wishes we had from you all it litrally filled the room I was in, it has helped us all beat this (for now) and with real happiness too, I dont feel a victim thanks to you people, I feel very privaledged and very lucky.

You have actually just made me cry! I am sure your family and friends are so proud of you. Sometimes lil things like online forums can be the best thing for you, they are strangers who you grow to appreciate as friends.

And just wanted to say I hope everything goes well for you and remember:

I met my husband Andy (who's a white man btw) at football match at Roker Park, Sunderland on April 30th 1983, yes that long ago that stadium dosn't even exist now (I think its totaly gone, I'm not sure)

A friend of mine lived in that area and wanted to go visit her family that weekend so I only went as I thought it was near Scotland and I'd never been there
We got there Friday and her brother offered to take us to a match Sunderland v Birmingham, as I was born in Wolverhampton I thought great I can cheer the midland team as I was told they would lose easy anyway, so would not bother anyone.
We stopped in a pub before the game and I met this brummy fan, to get some info on my "team" that afternoon, he couldnt believe a 'bird' coming up to him in a pub to chat about soccer and his team for real:joker:
We chatted for ages and I got his phone number gave him mine and went to see the match, he to thought Sunderland would win easy too, so I said if Brum win I'll definateley call you to say congrats.
The game was boring :joker: Sunderland scored 1st and at HT was leading 1-0, it was a bad but sunny afternoon the second bit, till 8 minutes from time when Birmingham and I woke up, first it was 1-1 this black guy (who I had the hots for) in the brum team scored a penalty which went down well when I stupidly cheered. Then Mick Harford a Sunderland man playing for brum scored the winner with 2 minutes to go.

I could not wait to call this guy I'd met, I'd already told my friend I fancied him anyway, and I knew it would wind my sister up if I dated a white man so I did, and never regretted a day of it since.
We got married on May 1st 1984, we wanted the same day but people coming from Jamaica meant this was the closest we got to the date we met.
Oh, and if I could change one thing about him now, its his damn team, since that day I realised brum won lucky and are indeed a bad bad team .....:joker:
I wish he was a Manchester Utd fan or Chelsea:rolleyes:

Oh, dont get me started, I've cried so many tears for so many days I cant remember how many now, but none of those times with greater joy than since the day I got so many lovely messages from people on tibb.
Young people who I'm told are either thugs, hoodies, or pregnant, young people who only 'grunt' and won't and can't communicate in spoken english let alone type anything litterate and legible.

Yet these young people amazed and astounded staff and patients at St Thomas's hospital they like I were so proud we do have people under 20's with brains care and compassion beyond anyones dreams, now if only the TV and newspapers latched onto that fact.
Thanks Annie sweet heart, and I will always be pedalling for sure now:kiss:

Since the opp, I've lost a bit of self confidence and thats why my daughter has took me to one side and insisted I don't give in.
She took my pic in the avatar and has talked me into using it, it was one of a few days I felt good about me and my body once I realised I'd lose my clevage, but I'm glad we took the photo now.

So with that in mind I'd give myself on looks alone a 6/10 as I am 45 now.
At my best the pic in the banner on the extreme right hand side, I was 21 then just married and felt great, then I'd have said and easy 8/10 :thumbs2:

Nicole was a formation of our mothers names, though in my case its was my gran who had recently passed away, she came to my wedding though the first time she'd flown to the "mother coutry" in her 68 years lifetime, I was so thrilled to have her there.

That was Granma Nilly and Andy's mom is called Collette so we ended up with Nicole to honour them both, and we'd have done the same for our fathers too had we had a son.

We have discussed it and it was left up to me to decide, I never thought I want a real boob job, but I cant be doing with this padded bra, in effect the cheapest boob job on the market.

So, I'm having it done, now heres the catch I've never regretted being a 36 ff till now :joker:
Oh boy, and they charge by the size, to get the surgery done, its gonna cost us about £4,500 but if I sign up before Christmas there having a buy one get one free deal:joker::joker:
I will probably go get this done by the end of the year if my biopsy tests keep looking as positive as they are

I honestly don't know, I dont play a lottery as all I have I'm happy with now, its sounds odd but its true.

So, a few things I would do with 20 Million make sure 10 million of that was spread amongst our family in equals shares, they are younger and the money really would change thier lives.

With £5 million I'd then consider our friends we have about 25 real close friends (mine and Andy..Nicole fits into catergory 1) I think we'd consider them gifts from £20k (a car) to £100,000k a house, till they were thought of.
This to would include the 37 people who stood by us from tibb with there messages of support before during and after my opp, our longest hour of need that you gave so freely to us. Those 37 would add to the 25 making 62 to split £5 million, we would easily make there day and there is always greater joy in giving than recieving.

The rest we would just live comfortably by, it would buy us the freedom to do anything anytime and that would be a lovely thought at this stage of our lives.

* edit, Didnt wanna sound to cheesy with charity but we would also like to make donations to the cancer trust and the St Thomas's Hospital foundation fund too, but small personal sums. I just didnt want people thinking we'd forget all about em entirely

!, Yes I'd rip there arm of for it, OHhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'd love to be there, I'd be a mix of Kat (cranky without the singing and screaming) Rachel ( caring, honest and sincere, I'd try be dignified as she has been) Darnell (for the in your face brutal honest stuff to keep people on there toes)
But above all I'd be silly and have a laff at myself first before I do others , and try be like I am here, which isnt to bad I hope:whistle:

I'd like to have met Jesus of any man dead or alive, just to witness myself the mans true greatness.

Whilst at a working age, I prefer the City, however I'd love to retire to the coutryside and we are even considering retiring to Jamaica, however its a thought only.

Awww now thats a lovely question.

It has to be bridesmaid at my Aunty's wedding I was just 6 at the time and had this beautiful white satin silk dress to wear with gold ribbons and petals in my hair band.
The whole day was magical I was one of three and the youngest my cousin was another( a year older) but the head bridesmaid a lot older than us.
The whole day was fabulous and went so fast I felt like a real princess, and refused to give up the dress at night, I screamed and cried when I had to give it up:blush2:
and only stopped when someone gave me a photo of me in the dress to remind me.
A day I'll never forget and still makes me smile to this very day, thanks for bringing that memory back for me supernoodles:kiss::hug:

No offence taken, its been an issue before, and on this site.
Its revealing its sexy but as long as its not offensive or smutty I'm happy posting it.
What you must understand is what a woman loses with a mastectomy, you(meaning me) cant really say it dont effect me, it does.
I felt I'd be disfigured I felt Id never be sexy again, and thats part of me lost, all woman and most men will identify with being able to look and feel sexy and wanted, I'm no different.

It took a lot of pusuading from my daughter to a, put the pic on first time round, and b, (after I took it off, after a similar incident to this) put it back on, I'm now happy I did, as it shows an important part of me and my whole make up.
Not every part, but a substantial part that I thought was lost, and now realise it isnt, just its changed slightly, but I'm still that person in the pic no matter what the opperation took away.

Angie I personally think its very brave of you to put the picture up and even more so to keep it up. If your happy with it then keep it on as long as you want, its more than just what some people may call a revealing picture

My question is, you've already said that you want to go to Jamaica, but if you could go anywhere else in the world, where would it be?

Favourite country has to be England, although I'm proud of my Jamaican origins also.
However its England I call home, its England i support in sports espeicially when the West Indies and Jamaica are involved with no exceptions to that at all.
I'm proud to be British and love living in England:thumbs:

My favourite county again has to be home and thats Surrey for me, however I have a fondness for my birth county the West Midlands too.

Well the pic was taken when I was 44 does that make things any better?
What if I were 32 or 23 like Lauren has said its not the age the pic is either good or bad depending on someones taste and oppinion, age should not be a such a relevant factor as to the pics moral correctness or not.

Awww thank you Joshua:kiss:, and to be fair I dont think anyone has really took to that pic in any bad way and Its good for people to be able to ask about it, the last thing I'd want to do is offend anyone.
If someone does have a problem just write to me I've always replied to every single U2U message, and always will.

I'd like to go on a European tour as its many countries in a relative short travelling distance, but, on a long haul trip I'd like to see the Great wall of China or Ayres Rock in Australia.

Only the obvious heroes my husband and late Father, they are all the heroes I've ever needed.

Dream job would a fashion critic like a female Gok Wan :joker:

Favourite season is Autumn I love the weather not to hot or cold, and the childhood memories of expectancy and exitement as winter and Christmas time gets nearer.

Not every part, but a substantial part that I thought was lost, and now realise it isnt, just its changed slightly, but I'm still that person in the pic no matter what the opperation took away.

glad you took no offense i just asked. If your happy to flaunt it then im not going stand in your way neither will i complain. :thumbs2:

I have religious beliefs, I believe we were created by God and not here by some hickledy pickledy random evolving of cells or fossils, humans are far to advanced and naturally conditioned to be randomly selected through evolution.
However, I don't have a church I'm part of I find to many discrepencies within christian churches with what the word of God the bible teaches.

I don't believe in a life after death in the same sense christians accept. I believe the Biblical account that the dead are merely sleeping till woken to a resurection of life again.
As Jesus himself taught, if you recall the story of Lazarus in the bible, this was a good man who had been a friend of Jesus and lived a good moral life.
Yet he died, one might think he got his reward with the angels in heaven, so why did Jesus muck up the plan and bring him back? Would'nt you be a little fed up, you got to heaven then bang, nope back to work on Monday morning again, thanks to jesus grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
No, the Bible explains death better, Jesus told (and in the story of the little girl who'd died) that they are merely sleeping, and when woken they reacted like anyone waking up, unaware of what had gone on whilst asleep.
Thats a better and more reasonable explanation of what death is, and God dont have no punishment chamber like hell thats for sure:laugh: punishment of death is eternal sleep only.

I don't believe in guardian angels, as a source sent by good.
It must be accepted if one trusts the bible, that spirits do exist but God after sending Jesus the last physical sign for humans to see God and his promises, now has no need of any such influence till the day he calls a time on Satans influenced world.
Any signs of 'spirits' will be from him (Satan the real ruler now of this world for the time being), and the best way to disguise evil is to put it in 'angelic' forms, thats why the bible warns of spiritism and idolatry to such detail.

Well thats my views, I never preach em, and never bible bash anyone, and always accept whatever people decide to do and believe it will be God who judges not man so no need getting het up over what is out of our hands.
A loving God and one that understands humanity best is a God that will see all we do positively, and thats how I prefer to keep my faith in the main, between me and God.

Thank you, thats good of you to say:kiss:

Well the only place I have a mole is just underneath my left buttock:shocked: its so tiny too and a little white spot, most perculiar, and thankfully out of harms way.
Its funny as my husband has on similar sized single brown mole and thats just above his left side hip, so almost so close to the same spot as mine :joker:
If we took a razor blade and snicked of the brown and white dots they would also makes us look completly mole free too as they both match our opposite skin colours and are equally the same size :joker:

I know it sounds real cheesy, but I could only ever wish to be famous for saving someones life, more than one would be even better.
There is no greater gift that you could give someone than that, espeicially if they were young lives.
Yes, to win a medal for bravery, (even though I'm a big chicken) would be awesome:wink:

There is nothing I would change about my personality, if ever I thought it was to extreme I'd have changed it myself by now, so its one of those that "only needs fixin when broke" catergories.
I always hide my slight shyness with humour, so I suppose being a bit more funnier would help if I had to change one thing about me.

My favourite part of Jamaica (I loved this question, as its made me think of my Grandma too) Is the parish of Westmoreland and in particular Savanna-la-Mar where most of my familly and Granma are living its in the SW of the Island not to far from Montego Bay in the NW and its a real beautiful place to be and peacefull too.
Brought a tear to my eye just thinking about it, thanks for that Christina in many ways its made my day :hug:

Polar bear, I just love the white fur and the warmth it must give even in extreme cold conditions. Not that I'd ever wear fur..Never ..its just those bears look so nice all in that smooth white fluffy fur, it must be a fettish :joker:

Well I'm going to be honest here as always :joker: I'm pretty much ok for money right now despite trying to find surgery bill so........ I'd hand it in to customer services leaving my name and address for its return to the person who left it, if not I'd want it :joker:
However, if I was'nt so comfortable with my finances, I'd have no problem feeling lucky and keeping it, although its hyperthetical as its never happend, I just THINK i probably would go along with the finders keepers philosophy

This is a great question Kate:thumbs:

I'd just left school when out of the blue this 'friend' from the same school comes asking me on a date, we'd hardly ever spoke at school but he seemed a nice boy and he did come to the house as my mom insisted.
We were going to a dance near Battersea park and would be back 10pm sounded good and even my mom said ok.
I invited a few friends round and we chose clothes one did some make up (I'd never tried that before first ever time with lip stick on) :spin:
By the end I felt like a real model, these friends were great:thumbs:

Anyway this Jermaine turns up on time and we go to his friends house (he never said I looked nice just ..well looked at me) At his friends house I immediatley noticed everyone smokin dope it was horrible and I thout of the clothes i was wearing if they might be stained forever
Then jermaine throw this tiny (what I know now as a boob tube) at me and a skirt ( i had a bigger hankerchief than that skirt in my handbag) he siad put this on you cant go this party like that they will laugh its no church disco.
The top to be honest would have just coverd my 10 knuckles let alone my chest and no way would I have squeezed into that skirt I felt awfull and wanted to go but I couldnt as I didnt know where we were.
I went dressed in that horrid top and skirt I may aswell have been naked I felt sick and so conscious of people staring.
I felt like a hostage and was so glad to get home, and never mentioned what I'd done to anyone for years.
I must say it put me off dating black guys (which was silly) but thats how bad it was, and now I look back and think it was a test I passed I got the worst 'relaitionship' in order to get the best and 3 years later I was married for the first time and have been married ever since.

Kate..

I'd become that Tye Goodran*(spelling)? fella on celebrity home makeovers in the USA..simply as he does almost what I'd consider heroic in giving someone there life back.
He improves (or the show he presents does) peoples lives and to be able to do that would be nice.

"Always look on the bright side of life" and would be about normal people, young people (who I would highlight and show) who do there best.
Not drug dealers, not vandals, not violent but ordinary kids with extra ordinary skills which are ignored by the TV shows but this one would give them there 15 minutes of fame they deserve.
People like you guys with those incredible graphics, people like Rocko and Lauren (and many others) who have passed exams looking to advance themselves in life the RIGHT way.
Thats what Id like in a proper reality show, not one on young people which is reality for about 1% of teenagers whilst the 99% get left out simply because they behave properly.

Have fun, try and make someone laff at least once in a day, and always take the opportunity to tell those you love that you do love them.
I try to live every day as its my last, and nothing would be more horrid than passing without telling someone I loved them or leaving someone without seeing them laff.
The phrase "tell people like it is" is so often abused by people who see this as an excuse to be rude, I prefer to really tell people as it REALLY is and look for the positives to say, that way you get heard and properly respected, and hopefully loved and cared for in return.

Hate to be morbid but I'd only now move away from England if I died, my mom would probably have me taken to my Gran's familly plot (it has been discussed and agreed if she's still alive thats where I'll go) If I out live her, then no, I wont ever move from my home

Ive been to Jamaica 5 times the first as a 3 year old and the last time was 5 years ago.
I'll be back again soon probably next year as its our Silver wedding aniversary :flowers: and I'll have to collect all those pressys :joker:

She is naturally caring kind and nice, I dont see that as boring but fun and natural, and its entertaining seeing how she copes through 8 weeks of this , so far.

Lauren, we had a very slight differece in oppinion :joker: (huge really ) but she was fair and I respected that immediately and I've loved her ever since.

Yes you know that one about Duffy the singer and me thinking her name was Scruffy LMAO
yep that was embarrasing, but the other one , most embarrasing Ive written in the alchohol thread.
That was flirting with someone on the internet some years ago and sending him a pic of my boobs, but being drunk I sent the pic to my mom.
I was lucky she called the next morning to say she could not open the attachment so I managed to drive round there fast and delete it.:joker:

Oh yeah and there was one about the "Golliwog" which is funny and my hubby reminded me off the other day, but to embarrasing to put here unless...........:blush2::joker:

Love can Build a Bridge (the version done by Cher, Chrissy Hynde and Neneh Cherry ).... it always remains consistantly liked as opposed to many i love for a time and then forget about.

Dumb and Dumber I've never laffed so long and loud at a film so much it was painful as it hurt my sides laffing so much.
And I loved the film, The Colour Purple, and Legends of the Fall too.
But for emotion it has to be that funny feeling I got from Dumb and Dumber :joker:

I felt most happy between 19-23 when I was married, the single most happiest day of my entire life and nothing will ever get close to that special feeling a girl gets when married in a gorgeous white dress.
At 23 I had my daughter, the second most wonderful day, ( now a lot consider this controversial as a 2nd choice)
The reason I say 2nd is I chose my husband and got married, I would never have had a daughter without being married. So although close and both very very special moments, Nicole being born was second only to my wedding day. But all happened in that magical 4 year period, the happiest days of my life.

What a lovely question, and so nice to recall those days, Ive even taken out my photos and had a little cry, this has been another fabulous day on tibb, by far the greatest internet site there is, you guys are simply the best:thumbs::kiss::hug:

Civil Partneships for gay men and lesbian couples are fine with me and should be respected legally as they are thankfully now. I do prefer the term "Civil ceremony" though as Marriage is and always will be a sanctity and concept strictly for one man and one woman, and its only right the legal bonding of a same sex relaitionship be known as something other than marriage.

I think its a womans descision and always have to be, I know some will abuse this system but what is the alternative? I only hope woman use this as a last resort, there are so many ways in which this choice should not be an option now to woman in this era, as opposed to the past.
But because a small few silly girls will abuse the system its still no reason to change the law and I think we have that about right in this country.

Its a cruel way to bully someone like any other form of bullying, its also stupid.
But PC and legislation has only made things more ridiculous for both sides the majority and minorities now take advantage, and whats needed more than anything else is the application of common sense.
Without common sense we have comments like "only whites can be rascist" and equally silly statements like "I was only searched/stopped/asked because I was black"
Both ridiculous examples of playing to the PC and rascism "card" which fortunately now is getting rebuked more often, till of course this current trend goes to far up the other scale and we'll soon be back to the mid 1980's again and more PC to protect people again.
I say better for people just to grow up and use a bit of common sense, we all know whats rascist now, and if we dont' we sure as hell know what isn't rascist.

LOL, the tibb dog running faster, reminds me I must get in some fitness practise if I'm ever going to catch my twin sis ever again :whistle:
That dog looks fast :sad::joker:

Hi Angiebabe, probs dont know me that well lol but its really nice to be on this thread, it is so uplifting and different and amazing, you are an amazing person

I would like to ask, obviously you are so nice about everything, were you taught to be so generous or did you just learn it yourself?

I hope the question isnt rude, sorry if it is

You know something Gavin, just when you think this tibb site can't possibly get more touching than it already has for me personally, someone like you comes along and humbles me all over again to the point of tears.
I don't think your questions rude my friend I think its wondeful and I really think now, who am I to answer a question about my NICENESS, to someone who has shown me so much kindness that you have in a simple question.

I'll say this, kindness and caring comes easy when your surrounded by like minded people, just as folk can become aggresive and rude amongst those who influence that hate.
I'm just so lucky here, I dont know what I did to find this place, but I know now 99% of my prayers were answered on June 12 when I had the privaledge to meet you guys here.

And I mean that with all my heart, this place makes me so happy, its not only easy being nice its the only thing possible one can be amongst such lovely people like you.

I've still not decided who will be on here on wednesday, but it will more than likely be a boy or a pair of TiBB friends. Also those that post here will be more likely to be picked.

Angie, dead or alive, who would you invite to your dream dinner party?

For comedy Id invite Matt Lucas and Chris Rock, two of the most funniest men I know.
As serious speakers I'd invite Jesus and Ghandi just to hear them and ask them all about thier fascinating lives.

No, I've never seen Skins, or heard much about it apart from the thread titles on here.

That would have to be Will Smith in fresh prince of Bel Air, one of a few black charectors on TV we could relate to it was strange back then, but much better mix today, which is great.

I also took a lot of inspiration from Viv Anderson, the first black england player as my brothers loved soccer.
And Daley Thompson too, who I had a little crush on at the time :spin:

I did see DH once at my sisters, she watches that but I never got into it.
Seen GW once too, but again, apart from BB and the news I'd much rather I spent my time here with my friends where the real entertainment is.:kiss:

I'd spend it here with my close familly at home, and I'd also make a point of telling some people here exactly what I thought of them, all good of course :whistle:
I'd be making a lot of new threads that week, thats for sure.

I love the banner it shows all the HM's who have gone and whom your supporting, I like that list too and I hope youve got the winners in order correctly from extreme left to right:thumbs:

Thank you Magic for such a lovely thought out thread:thumbs:.
It was great to relive so many gret memories in answering those questions made possible by your idea.

And thanks to everyone for there wonderful questions, it was truly inspiring to look back at things like my first date, marriage and that fabulous day Nicole was born.
It was really special to think of places and those incredible moments and familly members that have made my life such a joy at times.
Since joining tibb, this life has gotten even better and this thread which I have had printed out will forever stay in our familly photo albums and records to constantly remind us of those very close and intimate times, you all helped revive.

I've always said you people on tibb are special, and its great to have the evidence in so many pages that will last another lifetime to come.

Thank you all so much for your care, consideration and questions in this fabulous thread, I feel very very lucky indeed:kiss::kiss::kiss::hug::hug:
