Can anyone advise me on the best/cheapest place to get one? Most places seem to be around £179.99 with the sports pack. Also any games you can recommend would be appreciated.
Thanks.
I recommend WarioWare: Smooth Moves, its a must buy if you're going to get a wii.

They seem to be the same price everywhere, try gamestation its always a little cheaper there.
Super Mario Galaxy and all the other Mario games are great and probably some of the best game on the console

They're a brilliant games console, well worth buying one. I've had many other games consoles and this has to be the best one i've had so far.

The last one I bought was a PS2. Got the Eye Toy for that and the Pro Golf game with the gloves.

What do you mean "Is that all"? I have a PSP too. I have about 40 PS2 games, but mainly tend to like playing Tiger Woods golf.

I said 'is that all' because at the time you made it seem as though the PS2 was the last gaming console you bought. You didn't mention the PSP, thought technically not a console, it would have been good if you'd mentioned it.
Also, you gave the impression that you hadn't bought many games i.e. you only mentioned two of them and you give the impression that you don't really play many games.
You should buy one. They good fun.

Be carefull. The wii is only really any good if your playing multiplayer or your into fun, gimmicky games.
If you want to sit down and beat stuff up, or shoot stuff, or play sports games - one of the proper next gen consoles is probably a better idea.

Can't you do both on it?

If you ask me, the novelty of the Wii wears off after a week or two

Yes, but when dealing with consoles, you need to talk in terms of quantity. The wii has some mature games, but the mature rated games on the PS3 and 360 outnumber it severly.
Many gamers I have spoken to find that the motion sensing novelty of the wii wears off pretty quick and many of those same gamers have returned to playing 360's.
Dont get sucked in by marketing, just think about what TYPE of games you would like to play.

Even when you've got one you then have to buy games for it. Do you know what kind of games you want? I ask because Nintendo are more noted for Kids games.

Why don't you hire a Wii from somewhere with a few games, try it out for a week and then decide if you still want one or not.

IMO The Wii isnt a console, its just a fad, Nintendo are now slowly backing away from the gaming market, soon everyone will get bored of it

It does feel like Nintendo have completely abandoned the core gamer. Its an ironic thing very few people realise that despite the wii's huge sales, gamers actualy hate the thing.

I was just going to start off with the sports pack. Tiger Woods is made for The Wii. Guitar Hero. Wii Music looks awesome.

Yah the DS is the same with its Brain Training and stuff
If ya enjoy a good story and excitement, get a 360 or PS3

I agree with you guys. I take my hat off to Nintendo for doing something different and the Wii has been a bigger success than most people thought but, its for kids and not for serous gamers

Exactly.
Also, motion control or not, Resi 4 was the most kick ass game in the known galaxy and no wii port could ever top it.
Thats another thing I hate. All the wii's core 'proper' games can pretty much be dont on the gamecube. Thats not a next gen console. Thats nintendo being technology cheap [they did it with the original DS] despite their hoards of money.

Oh well. I got one. And I think the sports pack is great. I was up until 2am playing tennis. Lol

The wii fit is great too, lots of fun. Especially the boxing!

I love my Wii. If your into longer fantasy kind of games then get the legend of Zelda. It's long game but quite fun. I've played the other Zelda games on the gamecube and the really old nintndo 64 and the one made for the Wii is much better.

Yeah. I got the boxing with the sports pack where you use the nunchook controller. Really good. Certainly will keep you fit. Lol
