I slept with my best friend's sister in law a few months ago and everybody recently found out. out of no where she came clean to her husband and now it's a big family issue involving everyone.
my best friend (or former best friend) told all our friends and now everybody thinks I'm a scumbag.

You have done wrong, but any friends you have left will be your real friends. The other are just hangers on.
Just try talking to the people that are still talking to you and say you know you did wrong but explain your reasons.
Clearly it takes two to tango..... she was in the wrong as much as you were. She didn't say no at the time after all.

Well If i'm honest it probably wasn't a bright idea to sleep with a married woman wasn't it? Do you seriously like or love her or was it just a bit of fun?
If it's love then stick it out and see what happens, you might end up with a happy ending. If it meant nothing then I don't blame your friends and family if I'm honest because you've played a part in wrecking a home for nothing.

Well IMO you deserve everything you get. Not only was she your best friends sister (which I think is a big no no when it comes to sex) but she was married. No sympathy from me at all.
