Nine face axe over footie codesNINE housemates were put up for eviction last night as punishment for discussing nominations in a secret football code.
BB initially announced Luke and Dale had received the most votes from fellow contestants.
But bosses then stunned the gang by saying Maysoon, Kat, Darnell, Rex, Mohamed, Rachel and Stuart would also be up for eviction for breaking the rules.
BB claimed housemates talked about nominations in a code, created by Darnell, Mo and Rex, in which some were referred to as football teams.
The house erupted in screams and shouting as BB said: “Today there have been numerous conversations among housemates regarding nominations.
“As punishment, the following housemates will also face the public vote.”
BB then listed the names of seven housemates.
Luke cried: “This is unbelievable.” Stu said: “What a week!”
BB's announcement means only Mikey, Lisa and Sara will be able to sleep easily this week, knowing they are not going anywhere.
Under the code, Darnell was referred to as Arsenal, Luke as Wigan and Rachel was dubbed Cardiff.
Big Brother didn’t take long to rumble them and called head of house Stu into the diary room for a ticking-off. He was stripped of his role and returned with a face like thunder.
He told the gang: “Big Brother’s quite aware that when housemates talk about Arsenal, they’re talking about Darnell.”
Stu claimed he was not involved, moaning: “I don’t want to be head of house anyway. I don’t want to be grouped with people who are being deceitful and talking about nominations — because I haven’t.”
The eviction vote phonelines will be opened today.
It is not the first time BB bosses have cracked down on coded messages. Previous housemate Dawn Blake was booted out after producers claimed they cracked messages sent in code from her family.
They said a message her sister was ill was actually a warning to Dawn she was getting bad media coverage.
