Michelle wasn't the only one in tears over her nomination yesterday. Becki also wept, knowing it was her sole nomination that put Michelle up for eviction.
But what were her reasons behind the choice. Does she specifically want Michelle out, or was her selection down to a twist of fate, orchestrated by Ahmed..?
Here are the facts...
Having been initially told she didn't have to nominate for the first week, Becki was called to the Diary Room and told she DID have to nominate one person.
She was given 15 minutes to make up her mind and told to indicate her preference by kissing the selected housemate on both cheeks.
Becki walked around the House, thinking about her victim. Would it be Ahmed, Dan, Jason, Stuart, Victor, Nadia, Marco... or Shell or Michelle?
She spotted both Shell and Michelle lazing about on the sofas, one on the right, one on the left.
After lighting a cigarette and pacing back and forth Becki started throwing her tobacco pouch onto the floor and looking to see which side it landed on. A strange version of heads and tails perhaps?
Evidently still unsure which housemate to choose Becki decided to turn to Ahmed. She asked the Somalian, who was cooking dinner, to help her out with a problem. Should she smoke her cigarette to the end or not?
Kiss of death
Ahmed looked most confused when Becki asked him to help her with this conundrum, and even more bewildered when she turned her back on him, placed her hands in the small of her back and asked him to choose a hand.
"That one," he said, pointing to her left hand. The left hand side... the side of the sofa Michelle was laying on.
Seconds later Becki was asking Michelle to borrow her toothpaste before giving her the kiss of death as thanks.
But Becki couldn't stop thinking about her betrayal and headed for the Diary Room before 8 o'clock the next morning. She felt bad about it, she said, but she had her reasons for choosing Michelle.
"She was the only person who I didn't feel any warmth from. Although she was pleasant I just didn't feel something," she told Big Brother, quite upset.
"It's really awful the way I did it. It takes me back to Jesus and Judas," she said.
But are those really her reasons - or was it Ahmed's random choice of hand that sealed Michelle's nomination fate? Is Ahmed the innocent victim of some elaborate game playing on Becki's part? Would she have chosen Michelle anyway, without his intervention? And was that the first time Ahmed's actually cooked dinner?
We'll have to wait and see...
