the phonelines in Ireland dont work.
We all know that lots of Rachel supprters are Welsh and lots of Mikey supporters are Scottish. Im a bit annoyed that you cant vote from Ireland anyway, my cousin lives there and cant vote.
If there was an Irish housemate, it would be a bit harsh to him/her as none of their family and friends could vote.
I know, if the Irish lines were closed in BB6 Orlaith would have definitely gone in the week she was against Science!

I agree, and it was soo close anyway.
Science- 50.5%
Orlaith- 49.5%
Then the following week I think she just survived againist Kemal.
Kemal- 51.5%
Orlaith- 48.5%
She was an extremely lucky housemate, if the Irish phonelines didnt vote, she would of been straight out.

Orlaith is one of the best housemates ever! I had no idea her eviction were that close in percentages though!

Orlaith's from Belfast which is Northern Ireland which uses the UK voteing line.its just the Republic Of Ireland that cant vote.but Orlaith still had alot of support coming from ROI so you nerver know...
im realy pissed off that i cant vote.
Rachel replaced a blonde Irish girl from auditions who was suposed to go in on Launch night but pulled out the day before.

Well Orlaith is from Northan Ireland, which is part of the UK. Voting does work up there.
It's voting in Republic of Ireland that's ****ed up.

There hasn't been a ROI BB contestant since Spiral and I doubt many of Ireland voted for him  Ray did do quite well though.

Well...Spiral's enough to turn anyone off
Shame ROI is not represented that often in BB. The only Irish housemate before Spiral was Ray BB4 - both of them from Dublin (yay!)
Mary BB6 was Irish was she lived and auditioned in London, she moved to London very young.

I'm pretty sure Jennifer was the replacement. Late one night they were discussing the finale of Britain's Got Talent and how Jennifer was at home (and not in hiding) when it aired, whilst everyone else was. They were commenting on how the people who put Rex in hiding let him watch the finale.
Orlaith's eviction head-to-heads were brilliant, I was chuffed she stayed over both Science and Kemal, but then well annoyed she walked! She had good potential

On the OS fourms BB said it was male that dropped out, and hinted it was Darnell that replaced them. Pretty much confirmed on launch night LF when Darnell said "I wouldnt have got a VT, I only got told yesterday".

On the first blog on the website, they definately said it was a woman that dropped out, they said something like they they wish her the best of luck. Unless two dropped out or something, or a mistake is made somewhere.

orlaith is one of my favorite housemates ever, because she was the only one that year not to lick any ass,she was very beautiful and still survived 3 votes in a row,she beat all of team bitch plus science
vanessa/makosi
science
kemal
i think she would have been in the final and come 2nd or won,she would have easily beaten makosi, sorry makosi fans but at that stage she ruind it for herself, she only got 8% of the public vote
but yeah i was thinking that the other day if there was an irish housemate in the house, there would be an outcry.

That nidht Orlaith was up and Malosi/Vanessa were chosen, Makosi should have been evicted shouldn't she? didn;t she recieve more votes than Vanessa.

you see orlaith had both the northern irish and the republic of ireland backing her, plus male viewers,
the only reason science vs orlaith was so close was because, orlaith got a very bad edit on the thursday saying that she nos shes not going and she is def going to stay, that would have made ppl vote for her even more,id say before she said that it was probably like 55%
and as for kemal, god i knew he was going,he is one of the fakest housemates ever, seriously it was so bad,him and his dillusions against makosi, ewww he made me sick, the only reason there vote was close was because all week orlaith was moaning saying she was wanting to go,and kemal still went, and she walked the next day,she punk him and derek big time

Yeah Vanessa was dull, but she didn't deserve the reception she got, especially after the way in which she was evicted. Didn't somebody from crowd throw something at her when she left?

marc i agree,to an extent it annoyed me when she walked,as she just survived 3 in a row,and tbh i think she could have won because she was getting the treatment rachael is getting now only worse, the things they said about orlaith were awful.

10-08-2008, 10:53 PM
yeah they threw an apple or something it was awful :( makosi fully deserved to go that week, she got like 50% out of 6 people, vanessa only got like 25% i think not to sure but it was around that

Nah, she was Irish. I meant in more recent BB's.
The Irish BB housemates are:
Anna, Big Brother 1, from Dublin (finished 2nd)
Brian, Big Brother 2, from County Kildare (winner)
Ray, Big Brother 4, from Dublin (finished 2nd)
Spiral, Big Brother 7, from Dublin (evicted week 10)
Keith, Celebrity Big Brother 1, from Dublin (finished 3rd)

Yeah but that week she faced eviction with everyone else, the public had her as the fave to go, Vanesssa was 2nd.
So if BB had not added the twist, Makosi would have been taken out mid way through BB6.

seany and orlaith can count as irish but also british,as northern ireland is part of britain, but youll usually find ro1 would support a n.i housemate and vice versa, the irish housemates always seem to do well, when an irish housemate reachaes the final they always win or come 2nd,seany was an acception because at the end of the day he was abit of a knob wasnt he,if orlaith had stayed to the final, she would have given anthony a run for his money.but i think she would have come 2nd or 3rd

I know Orlaith and Seany aren't "Irish"... but since they're N. Irish they still got the Irish vote. In my eyes an N. Irish HM would be the same as an Irish HM, but that's just me, just because they're still from this side of the Irish Sea!
I really wish the Irish HM had gone in this year, there hasn't been a good one since Ray :(

I read that Jen knew what the house looked like as she was not in hiding because BB has already told her that she wouldnt get in. It was only a few hours earlier they called her up saying she is a Hm because someone dropped out(not sure if it was a male or female), it could of even been someone who came in later eg. Stuart, Sara, May or Belinda.

We can't vote because it's BBUK, and we're not in the UK.
Someone said the only irish person before Spiral was Ray... That's not true. We had Anna and that witch weirdo Mary.
Just for the record, Spiral was one of the biggest embarrassments to come from my country. What an idiot.
