There not quite dead yet, but they're dying.

Rachel and Mikey attempted to save the group's dying goldfish this morning.

As Rachel went to feed the pair she noticed that Heaven was hardly moving and could only swim on its side.

"Go and see Big Brother straight away," Sara advised.

Rachel decided that the living area was too hot for the pets and she and Mikey transferred the fish bowl into B-block.

The pair removed the lid from the tank and refreshed the water. After several minutes they agreed that Heaven and Hell seemed better already.

"It's helping them to breathe," Mohamed said, as he came in for a look.

Rex was unconvinced that room temperature was relevant, stating that goldfish can survive in the most extreme weather conditions.

"If they've given you dodgy goldfish then they're going to die," he said.

Later, Rachel returned from the Diary Room and announced that she had been provided with droplets and special food to make the fish feel better.

I have a feeling that they keep changing the water and are putting the fish into cold tap water which is a shock to the system.

They could just be over-fed, that's all. I'm sure St. Rachel will sing a song and call her animals friends to join her to make the fish feel better before climbing on top of her magic unicorn and flying over the rainbow of happiness to join The Queen for some tea and crumpets.

Oxygen is absolutely essential for healthy fish.. without an oxygenating filter, fish suffocate. When I saw those two fish in a bowl with just a few bits of weedy weed, I knew they would die.

When treated properly, they can live up to 20 years in captivity. But I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. The producers don't care about the fish. All they care about is ratings and the money they produce.
